Nokia N810 down to £179.99 at Expansys

Just received a "Product Flash" from expansys on the N810, which is now down to £179.99:

EDIT: This is about 199eur or 256usd (according to Google)

Here's hoping it's a sign of something to come...

"Please note that eXpansys voucher codes cannot be used with this product." sigh.

BTW, the Psion Revo leather case, so I am led to believe, fits the N8x0 very well and is very cheap: http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=105191

Just be careful with Expansys to ensure that they are selling brand new sealed unit, or if graded A/B, that you print off the item's web page and complain promptly if they sell you an item worse than expected condition (happened to me and a friend buying grade-A palm TX's which were very tatty).

The N810 is slowly coming down in price, though I think you'd be stupid to buy one now, with the RX-51 just around the corner.

And Speculatrix, you get a thanks from me simply for your avatar. I see you have fantastic taste, specifically, in Wensleydale... hehe.

that's also been quite common. at least with the N800 you can fix it to have EU wifi channels - 1 to 13, I'd guess this works for 810, not sure about the 770.

well, its mostly a case of it going wsod and nokia repairs in norway not touching it as its a US model...

Re: Nokia N810 down to £179.99 at Expansys

expansys.ca isn't offering any deals.

I bought an N800 from them just before the price dropped through the floor. The tablet was still in transit and I called them and asked them to match the price of any of half-a-dozen retailers selling the tablet for dramatically less than they were. They said they couldn't possibly do that; the prices were too low. So I shipped the box back to them unopened, and took the hit on the postage to send it back (to the USA). I bought an N800 at a different online store and I still saved $80 after everything.

Of course, a few weeks later, expansys.ca had dropped their price to match everyone else's price.

I ordered an n810 from them two weeks ago. What they sent me is a used n810 that they didn't even bother resetting beforehand. At least it works fine but, as was mentioned earlier, their business ethics are questionable to say the least. I've already sent a complaint about it, which they seem to have gladly ignored.

Thanks for the link, though - I had been looking for a shop that sells these in Europe for the past few weeks.

And now to waste hours tweaking and playing with this new toy instead of studying...

complain ASAP to your credit card company - it's illegal to sell goods as new when they arrive used. get a chargeback and take your money elsewhere. note that expansys MUST pay for the cost of returning their device - they might say they will only refund when you return it at your own expense, they cannot do that.

PLEASE also complain to their local trading standard office as they are pretty good at dealing this sort of crappy service:
http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/manchester/

tell trading standards of expansys' address:
http://www.expansys.com/locations.aspx

good luck!

There's been no official announcement of the release of this new NIT that everyone's talking about. Any date you've heard is pure speculation. For all you know it could be out 2nd or 3rd Q 2010 or later or even never. How long has Duke Nukem Forever been in the making... exactly!

I posted a comment to expansys forum about them selling "new" stuff which was used, and got a reply saying it was "new", and referenced this thread at ITT
