Any interesting news from Bossa 09?

The Bossa conference is happening right now.... so any new announcements or features regarding the rx-51 or maemo 5?

http://www.bossaconference.indt.org/...programme-2009

As per the previous fremantle road map, i think i saw that there was a mention of Bossa - tba

But i don't see it anymore.

Can anyone confirm whether they remember seeing that?

Yes I remember seeing it too. I see Kate Aloha is discussing the Fremantle SDK and there's several other sessions that are closely related to Maemo 5.

And of course there has to be a talk by Carsten "Rasterman" Haitzler, the guy behind Enlightenment; after all, Canola is using his EFL libraries to great effect.

EDIT: It looks like Quim took it out today.

Does that mean fremantle is running a little late on schedule?

No, it means the Bossa conference is no longer expected—it's ongoing. . . .

Bossa is not only about Nokia or Maemo.

Rasterman has been into embedded (and mobile) development of Enlightenment and its libraries for quite a while. His work at VALinux Japan was of such nature; and after he joined openMoko development idem ditto.

openMoko is the OS for the Neo Freerunner, an open phone.

:)

Yes, of course, Rasterman isn't a Nokia guy. But OpenBOSSA, the guys putting on the conference, are sponsored by Nokia and they're the ones who brought us Canola. Canola uses the Enlightenment libraries, so it makes sense to bring Rasterman to the conference.

Thus far, it's just (shirted) geek backs in a conference room.

But you can look at pictures of Porto de Galinhas (the beach where the conference is being held) or the Summerville Resort and wish you were there... There are even some cute people in swimsuits (like this one).

Hm, I'm sorry if my link made people think I was suggesting something unsavory. I thought it would be funny to play with the word "cute"; in this case, I meant cute like a puppy, not cute as a synonym for "hot" or "sexy". :o

Man, I'm getting quite a(n undeserved) reputation for perversion... :(

heh, it just a friendly warning (and a somewhat ironic joke attempt) about the inquisitional attitude that's related to the topic these days.

but then i guess one can also blame the human minds ability to come up with all kinds of euphemisms to anything related to sex. its like walking on a floor of needles at times. hurray for prudes...
