Works on Diablo, 2008He/770.

1) Enable extras/devel
App Manager>Tools>App cat...>New
Cat name:extras devel
Web add: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/
Distribution:diablo
Comp:free non-free
Disabled:

xterm
sudo gainroot
2) apt-get install libidn11 libxslt1.1 libpcre3
3) app manager install libwebkit 41137-2, http://bundyo.org/maemo/webkit/libwe...a770_armel.deb
4) app manager install tear-0.3, http://bundyo.org/maemo/tear/tear-0.3-6_armel.deb
5) [[[[DOES NOT WORK ON 770 yet, only works on N8x0. optional: TrueJournals bookmarks, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...994#post266994 thread #203]]]
dl http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d....2.6-1_all.deb to default folder which is /home/user/MyDocs/.documents
xterm
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/tearbookmarks_0.2.6-1_all.deb ; apt-get -f install
6) App manager>Tools>App cat...> disable extras-devel

Some steps may NOT be necessary, skip step 5 if you do not care about bookmarks. Anyhow, that is how I did it, report errors

I would probably disable extras-devel after that, because many libs/apps are compiled with n8x0 cpu optimizations.

Will this effect MicroB in anyway? I would not mind trying Tear, but do not wish to risk any MicroB functionality.

From a user stand point, I do not see any difference in running MicroB while tear is running. The ultimate answer has to come from grand master Bundyo.

Thanks for the patient explanations. The installation was a piece of cake - after I removed a couple of programs.

My first impression was very good. Yet, I have not found a way to access the bookmarks I installed. Maybe the answer can be found in this 76 pages long thread.

Yup ;)

Currently in Tear the bookmarks are located on the far right side of the toolbar in the menu.
