From what I've seen, it only scan for available connections once right ofter it disconnects and stop. It doesn't do anything after that unless I manually reset it and reconnect.

Re: Mer 0.11 released

Hello from saxony,

I tried to install Jaunty and run always into trouble, now i install mer and it works. Congratulation for your work.
Two questions I have. the application manager couldn't find any installable program. How do I add some repositories and which one. and How do I close some programs? I tried to add repositories and don't know the adress. I couldn't close the dialog. He always ask me for the adress and there was no cancel-Button.

Thanks alot,

Erni35

OK, I lied. To fix the crash-everything-when-using-Control-Panel-Panels bug, I had to fix the desktop layout. When you see a hildon-desktop-layout-alpha update, you really want to rm -rf ~username/.osso/hildon-desktop before rebooting.

Closing is done through the rightmost switcher menu that shows up when applications are loaded. You have 95% of Ubuntu at your disposal, sudo apt-get install <something> in x-terminal. Application Manager only shows things in user/ section (where we put stuff that is suited for Mer directly)

The "back" button, or Escape, works to close dialog boxes without cancel. This is a Fremantle artifact..

Re: Mer 0.11 released

Question,

Booting from the flashable image. So far very impressed.

One issue that is bugging me, which I couldn't find an answer to in search, is where can the dim delay be set?

I would like to either set the delay to a much longer time of inactivity, or disable dim all together (esp while plugged in for example).

Thanks in advance.

Re: Mer 0.11 released

For those of you with WiFi problems in Mer, I've uploaded a new NetworkManager, which does not scan while associated which seems to fix the issue. I hope it doesn't cause problems while roaming, but we'll see.

(apt-get update; apt-get install network-manager=0.7.1~rc4.1.cf199a964-0ubuntu1mer1)

There's also the other issue of WiFi power saving not working currently. How many of you have "hot" tablets when running Mer?

OK, so we're playing a little with BlueMan.

Now, you can probably see why this piece of software would have appeal, but we need someone who knows Python who'd be willing to Hildonize this beast - any takers?

Blueman is a little buggy in my experience, I used it for some time. Though it offers considerably more options than whats available.
