Midori 0.14

1 Attachment(s)
Midori 0.14 is in diablo extras-devel and attached here. I use Bundyo's webkit fine with this. Midori 0.14 is the last version that will compile for diablo.

Fixes by me:
  • Use hildon file choosers
  • Bind (properly) fullscreen and zoom keys
  • Osso init so it doesn't get killed
  • Remove the double Midori from the title.

Can someone who has used both midori and tear compare them briefly? Thanks.

I prefer Tear personally, built for the tablet etc but Midori supports tabs, for instance, but Midori has no support for downloading but Tear does.

Ill have to second qwerty12 on that. Tear is the best browser for the tablets Ive tried so far...very few problems at all.

When I installed Tear, I was hoping I could uninstall Microb to have more space. But Tear's bookmarks management stinks and I can't figure out how to set the homepage and also on Microb I had it so the toolbar dissappears on fullscreen but Tear can't do that. Wait, I just checked and I can't uninstall Microb. 14 mb or whatever it was seems a lot of space for a browser I only use half the time. It does load a lot of pages faster and the scrolling isn't as frustrating though. Are webkit browsers supposed to be faster? I am surprised at all the browser options popping up lately and have only tried Tear and Microb

In my experience they are faster on many pages. Mostly on pages with many ads microb (with Adblock Plus and Flashblock enabled) is still faster. Way faster in some cases. But that's not a shortcoming of the Webkit engine.

Once somebody comes up with proper ad blocking features for Midori/Tear this should also improve.

on my N810 , midori is more stayable than tear , tear 3 always makes N810 hanging and you can do nothing but waiting

Midori crashed at launch for me. At relaunch a window prompted me to change the preferences. Any suggestions?
