Yes, I've noticed it. Tap-and-hold and choosing Back from the popup menu tends to still work.

ah, i was looking for a menu related back option, but forgot about the tap and hold menu.

Re: Tear 0.3.1 - a would be beta WebKit based browser

Just reporting.
( Tear 0.3.5-1 on N810, OS 43-7 )

Going to meegotalk.com with Tear bypasses the login page and goes to :

"Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.
Additionally, a 401 Authorization Required error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

( MicroB works, though.)

Answer from the meegotalk forum :

"The password for the site is not Drupal or vB related at all. It looks like Tear doesn't support the basic web folder authorization."

( Also, login to hotmail with Tear still doesn't work for me.
Hotmail asks me to upgrade my browser.)

tso 2010-03-09 17:16

Re: Tear 0.3.1 - a would be beta WebKit based browser

could be related to the lack of javascript cookie support in tear.

Bundyo 2010-03-09 20:43

Re: Tear 0.3.1 - a would be beta WebKit based browser

Yes, this version of WebKit doesn't support basic authentication.

You can probably bypass it by using http://user:Pass@meegotalk.com, but I would advise against it since Tear and keyboard completion will both remember your entry... :)

No it doesn't.

Try http://user:password@meegotalk.com

A different issue, hotmail is probably broken.

Does this help a diagnoses ?

When trying to login to Hotmail
(after the suggestion to upgrade the browser),
Tear goes into a loop of trying to connect (?).
After a number N of iterations, the web address in Tear looks like this :

"http://co119w.col119.mail.live.com/mail/TodayLight.aspx?n=1716183915&n=1873207661&n=635958 245&n=941904431&n=304108609&n=1416401770&n=7647646 82&n=409721943&n=10553989&n=1555559282&n=976879141 "

where N = the number of long numbers (or equal signs).

( Tear on N810, OS 43-7 )
( No problem with MicroB )

Hey bundyo.

Tear has been acting like a real piece for me lately.

I haven't touched the options for the longest time and have never changed the font settings.

Any clue on why TMO looks so horrible?

The only thing I can think of is that this started to happen after shin's flipcalendar app crashed on me a few days ago.

Here's a screenie.

If you're using the minimalist themes, they've been broken for a while, especially the light one...

Yes, I've noticed various situations where the back button is not enabled after tapping. I haven't gotten anything nailed down yet, though.

Which version did you install on what hardware? I'm assuming N900 since you said a phone, but what version?

Didn't have such issues until now. Try to uninstall it and check your rootfs space, then install it again.

Hi,

Yes, it is an N900 version: 3.2010.02-8.203.1.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling again, but doesn't help. I can see the Name 'Tear' but the icon doesn't appear. and when i click on it my phone restarts.

Thank for your response.

Re: Tear 0.3.1 - a would be beta WebKit based browser

Hmm, strange. I've seen something like that, but not with Tear which sits in Extras-devel. I'll try if I can reproduce it.

Venemo 2010-03-29 00:51

Re: Tear 0.3.1 - a would be beta WebKit based browser

I've just installed Tear from Extras-Devel.
Rebooted the device after installation.
There is no icon and if I launch it from the menu, it seems to crash.
(If I launch it from the terminal, it seems to work though.)

Re: Tear 0.3.1 - a would be beta WebKit based browser

I did reinstall it yesterday but it seems to work for me. I'll try again later but will remove everything more thoroughly.

Went to a iPhone optomized site after changing the ID. Apparently Tear does not support HTML 5 (or HTML5 video). Was the site mistaken or is this the case?

OK. Well Tear isn't coming up for updates so is there one out for Diablo or am I SOL.

And can anyone post the original user agent string so I can get off these iPhone pages?

Thanks

Or just delete the entire string. Tear will automatically restore the default.

I ran Sunspider benchmark on a few browsers and Tear does well on my N800.

Fennec 1.0 (Firefox Mobile) | 35243ms
Midori v0.1.4 | 68232ms
Tear 3.5-1 | 71847ms
MicroB too many script stops

I posted comparison against Debian browser Iceweasel, Kazehakase and a few other Debian favorites.

http://tabletuser.blogspot.com

I've got Tear running on my Nokia 770 under OS2008HE and its awesome to have my 770 with new life.

Tear 108584ms

NIT are great! Boot to SD and install and play!

Re: Tear 0.3.1 - a would be beta WebKit based browser

Hey Bundyo.

So Word Battle is probably my favorite pick up and play game on the tablet.

The website is king.com

As it is, I have to use VNC Viewer, mess with the options to make the width of the Mozilla browser to 817 pixels and also remove the navigation toolbar for it to display correctly on the screen.

http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/2...0041111472.png

The site only works if you're using a Windows or Mac machine.

Is there a way to edit the CSS file or whatever it is called so the site thinks I'm not using your Tear browser?

It would be nice if I could play this game natively on the tablet.

So yeah, any chance you could look into this for me?

Isn't that just a matter of what useragent string their server sees? If it is, can you just select one of these and substitute it for user_agent in Tools >> Options... ?

http://www.useragentstring.com/pages/Safari/ or
http://www.useragentstring.com/pages...gentstring.php

I'm not sure what this server is actually doing when looking at the people who are using it. I think that's the whole problem.

I can log onto the site, walk around there, get hoarded by their unrelenting, obsessive ads, click on a game to play, it loads just fine, then find the lobby for it and all seems good.

However, once I try to enter the lobby I'm seeing this.

http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/244/killo.png

With MicroB, I actually get a second check mark for the browser which means I still would have two more checks to get through to play there on my tablet.

Hope I made some sense on this. :)

Re: Tear 0.3.1 - a would be beta WebKit based browser

Well, this explains it - the site requires Shockwave which is not available in any version of linux.
