Me too (both a data plan and a voice/messaging plan). I was just addressing funpig saying they "just want a tablet". Even if I just wanted a tablet, I'd still get the data plan, I think.

As for phone calls ... on any platform I've used, if I say "don't answer the call" or whatever, it takes me back to the app I was in, usually right where I left off. Hopefully Maemo will do the same. Given that it's a true multi-tasking OS, I expect that to be the case.

Me likey !.
In particular I like how the icons are bigger - particularly the volume slider as well as volume muter icon.
I know we had a raging debate on whether large icons are space wasting or not, but while using my N810 in my car - that single Volume muter icon is a source of immense frustration for me. Its like a pin point and needs me to click with my nails literally and that too while driving you can't even be sure whether its a muted icon or not.

Overall I like the direction of the N900 Fremantle GUI design.

It doesn't seem to tell you what the voice signal strength is (just the "internet connection" strength). You'd think you'd get an idea of Voice Signal, Data Signal (GRPS, EDGE, 3G), and/or Wifi ... each as a separate gauge*. Other phones I've used do that, for example.

(Gauge being distinct from "Widget" -- you could probably fit all 3 gauges in one of those button-like widgets in that screen shot)

The worrisome thing in that screenshot for me is the battery section. The battery is showing 75% full, and it says, "one hour of active use"... Yikes.

translate.google.com does funny things to that post... :)

One, I will go make another skrinshotikov, pobolee. Compatible software is:) So far, I say that already mentioned. This is the most impressive unit in 2009. Others say not so. S60 on its background obsolete junk. And this is the main difference.
I looked at the N97 in his hands and him, understand that ... Ehhhh. In a word tomorrow evening, something will write:) please you ... Well, try the company does not move under the monastery ...
PS Having lived around a few months, I can say that this smart, droll wonder. And steadily flying:) Although there are some brakes, but justifiable.
He seems to think it is great ("smart, droll wonder")...

Russian speakers should go to translate.google.com and "contribute a better translation" for some of those phrases... :D

Maybe that has something to do with the two hard-drives he has attached to it ;)

According to google's translation:

"One, I will go make another skrinshotikov, pobolee. Compatible software is:) So far, I say that already mentioned. This is the most impressive unit in 2009. Others say not so. S60 on its background obsolete junk. And this is the main difference.

Ha, just re-read the awful translation... "skrinshotikov" = screen shot! Hee hee... Is "pobolee" a humourous transliteration of "probably"? Does that mean he'll post another screenshot soon? I hope so!

Good catch there Qole ... so look out tomorrow for some more details ...
My God, how underground sniffing detectives we at this community have become ... :D

For a moment before all that Russian translation - I thought he said - "All your bases are belong to us !"
