I cal my cell and the tablet rings, I enter 1 and then my cell rings. I pick up my cell, but can hear myself - no voice coming from the tablet. Texrat, do let us know if and when you can solve this issue. Also, whay do I have to enter 1 to take the call on Google voice always ? Is there a way to disable that ? |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
Thank you mrdally204!
Despite you typing a wall of text, it looks like you have some really great suggestions. :) I don't have RTCOMM installed so I'll look into that. My main question though is if everyone is using Dial Central for SMS messaging or do you guys find it easier to just do this with a web browser? If so, what Google webpage/webpages do guys use? Same question with receiving voice messages as well. I'm not sure but I don't think it's possible to place a phone call through one of the Google webpages is there? @nilchak I tend to have the same problem on my side as well. Sliding the volume bar corrects for this behavior. At least in my case. |

Re: Dialcentral 1.0
I have tried using the website for sms but found it less functional. I have enough contacts to span 3 pages so that's kind of a pain. Word is Google is designing an IPhone friendly site because their app was blocked from the store. When that happens it might be a little better but for now dialcentral is the way to go. I like the larger font and ability to use my fingers vs. the stylus.
I have tried the main google voice site as well as the mobile It is possible to initiate sms/calls from either site to any number. |

I actually have like 4 different bookmarks for Google, including all of the mobile versions as well. Just trying to make sense of them all. I also would really like to avoid using Javascript since it's quite the pain sometimes on the Tablet. By the way, when having a texting conversation with someone, the whole thing keeps building exponentially because all of the "RE:" text that follows every message. Is there a simple way to just send a simple message without the background history of what is being said each and every time? Sorry, I'm a little new to this all but I'm willing to learn. :) |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
You are just sending the message. The conversation keeps growing simply for you to have the history. It is not being sent in your reply. Currently the only way to delete them is through the website, along with listening to voicemails.

Re: Dialcentral 1.0
Okay.
I thought that all of that history was being sent each and every time since that's what shows up on every message. |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
I just promoted Dialcentral 1.0.6-10. Its tested under Ubuntu 9.04, Diablo, and Mer 0.16-testing5.
Those with scratchbox or a real n900 I would love to have feedback. My Mer testing should help eliminate a lot of issues that one would hit on Fremantle. Changes?
Most of the stuff I did for Fremantle should also apply to Diablo, I just had to rewrite some of the widgets :) Until Mer is ready, it would be interesting if someone made a libhildon-fremantle which tries to backport or make drop in placement for as many fremantle widgets as possible. I hope you enjoy the new UI work I've done. |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
I like the UI, it's more finger friendly with the big prompt boxes. One thing I noticed on a previous build though was that if you type in a new phone # in keypad and then select SMS. The entire prompt is blank except for the send because no SMS messages have been sent/received yet. Perhaps there should be a line in between where you read the messages and where you can type?
