Does it hang and you can't do anything or does it just never make the call? Have you tried entering in the area code? I always do but am unsure if its needed for "local" calls. |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
You receive an invalid number notice if you try to dial without an area code. Nothing happens when I click dial, I've tried 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx and xxx-xxx-xxxx formats with the same result. I've also tried to tap "Dial" under someone in my Recent section with no luck. Nothing hangs, either the Select Phone Type window goes away or on the keypad when dial is tapped, the phone number disappears and nothing happens.
Here is is the complete console output from launching an application to clicking dial after typing in a 10 digit number: Code:

Re: Dialcentral 1.0
I am using DC 1.0.0-0, dial out is working fine. But receiving incoming calls is hit and miss at best. The recorded announcement comes out in less than 3 seconds! Even if I am preparing to receive the call, 2/3 I missed it. Does anyone know how to set that recording announcement to make it comes up much much later, say 1 minute or 2 min would be much better. I went to GoogleVoice settings, there is no such parameters under settings.
Mine call back is from gizmo5, or does it matter? bun |

There is no way to adjust the number of rings, it is based on time and is currently at 25 seconds before the GV voice mail picks up. Some phones may ring longer or shorter depending on the connection time to put the call through. Quote from the GV help pages: "If you don't respond to a call within 25 seconds (by accepting, sending to voicemail, listening in on voicemail, or accepting and recording the call), Google Voice will send the caller to Google voicemail. To prevent your mobile phone, home, or work voicemail systems from recording dead air or the Google Voice prompts, simply make sure that ringing your phones and connecting to your outgoing message on those systems takes longer than 25 seconds. Most providers add at least five to 10 seconds of instructions at the end of your personal greeting. Keep that in mind when timing your mobile phone voicemail greeting. If you've turned off call presentation, we'll send the call to the numbers you're forwarding to, and your caller will be connected to your home, work, or mobile phone voicemail systems or answering machines if these phones' voicemail systems or answering machines pick up before 25 seconds. If these voicemail systems or answering machines don't pick up before 25 seconds, the caller will be connected to Google voicemail." From: http://www.google.com/support/voice/...10&topic=19490 |
No international Numbers In Contacts
I have noticed that in the Contacts pane contacts who have international numbers (more than ten or eleven digits) are not able to be selected for dialing because their numbers are not presented. Is there a work around for this besides going to the Keypad and entering the numbers?

Re: Dialcentral 1.0
I noticed that google released a few apps for phones. I was taking a look around to see if they were open source but did not find anything. Wonder if any info there might help epage streamline and maintain code a lot easier

I have noted the several bugs or potential bugs mentioned and will hopefully get to looking at them this weekend. |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
Okay now I cannot Dial out either. I was happily use DC with perfect success. Then I reflashed my N800 and once I got everything reinstalled from backup, DC would not dial out. When I hit dial nothing happens...at all. I reinstalled it a few times and still nothing. The SMS works fine and all my GV contacts are listed. I tried with and without area codes. If I use the GV web interface, it works fine with my NIT. Please help.
I see others have had the same problem but I don't see any answers except for reinstalling, which brought me no success. |
