can't setup a GTalk account
I decided to look into gtalk on my nokia 770. I guess I need a gmail account to start it, so it asks me to set one up. Great, I click "Create new account". This starts the browser which then appears to go to a nokia site, tableteer.nokia.com, at which point the browser crashes.
Ok, any help? |
rebooting the Nokia 770 stopped the crashing issue.
Now google is refusing to setup the account claiming either: --A google account has already been created with your nokia device --Your located in a country where goole talk service is not authorized... I am in the USA I am doing this at work behind a firewall..will check it at home later. |
Ok...managed to setup an gmail account. I think it was our wireless authentication server that was giving me problems.
Gtalk won't start because I am behind the firewall. I will have to speak to our IS department about that. |

However you should be able to set up an ssh tunnel to a box at home, and tunnel the gtalk traffic over that. lifehacker.com had a walk through a month or so back to do it with firefox, should be able to pull it off with gtalk on the 770 |
