First German Newspaper as epub - How to download?
The taz offers an digital abonnement of its newspaper for only 10 € (w/o DRM!). Now I am wondering if such a subscription would be a viable option for me. The crucial point is that I don't want to browse to the download page to download it every morning. What I'd like to have would be an option to facilitate the dl. The iphone app Stanza is given as a reference that has such a feature. Yet, as far as I know, fbreader doesn't offer something similar.
Does anyone of you have an idea? Btw, the latest newspaper could be downloaded (if you had an account) under http://www.taz.de/epub Thanks in advance, icke |

There's an option to send you the file automatically per e-mail.

Good point, maybe a dedicated email-adress could do the job. Thanks for pointing it out.

Why not use the built-in RSS reader? I read Der Spiegel and Tagesschau this way.

Generally speaking, what I am dreaming of is an ereader (like fbreader) that allows me to select whether to download the file or to leave it on the server and then to read it right away on my NIT. The solution with the email would work for me because I am not using an email program at the moment. What I want to prevent is to download the file with my desktop and than to copy it on the tablet. But again, thanks for the tips and tricks, icke |

Pretty insecure though but, on the whole, I don't really consider my tablets as secure devices anyway... |
Re: First German Newspaper as epub - How to download?
I added the taz.de feed yesterday (thanks to you). Right now I am reading full text articles without any ID or PW.

Well yes, that looks promising. I know it's not safe, but at least I could bookmark it and download the newspaper whenever I feel like.
Thanks icke |
Re: First German Newspaper as epub - How to download?
With RSS reader you are reading headlines and abstracts of selected articles (so, not "real newspaper"). If you want to read the full text of a particular article, you just click on the link, and you will be taken to the article that is posted on the Web site of the newspaper. You can then download the article to your computer if you so desire. You can even mark an article on the RSS reader if you don't have time and want to read it later. It's free, no subscription required. I prefer getting news this way than going to different Web sites. Easiest way to add a feed is to go to e.g. taz.de and click on the yellow RSS icon next to the URL on the status bar down below.
