I think this depends on source media, I had no problems with seeking in files I tried. Does this happen with all HD or SD material? Wanna test if some of the x264 params causes it?

The problem with picture freezing when skipping backwards in time, seem to occur with material that is x264 encoded regardless of resolution. Xvid works fine though.

EDIT: Regarding audio/video sync, it IS way better than before, but not perfect. Audio seems to be trailing a bit (~50ms I'd say).. but at least it seems totally constant unlike earlier.

Released a new server for Windows. Last release was pretty broken and scanning caused duplicates in database so I suggest everyone who is upgrading to start with a fresh database. If not, at least reset the transcoding profiles.

New client should arrive in extras tomorrow, thanks everyone for voting.

EDIT: 0.3.2-1 is in extras. Pushed 0.3.3 to -devel with the remote control feature using Local playback profile. You can also now use it when phone's silent profile is on. I think client is now done so don't expect new features. Both are going into maintenance mode, I'll keep fixing and updating them as VLC updates. I'll keep supporting Knots on irc, hopefully other people can help here. Most stuff should be documented on wiki so read that. Thanks to everyone involved and especially those few who donated.

I tried to install this new client. There was a lot of lib dependancies. But when I tried to use apt to get them, it said I already have that lib, or it couldn't find them. Is there some kind of combo package to install all those libraries i'm missing?

Sorry, it's for N900. I could probably add the remote playback feature to diablo client too at some point, if there's demand.

just wanted t say how great knots 2 is :D

i've been using it for a while now but just today started to connect it to dvbviewers recordng service. so, now i can watch live tv on my n810 or n900 and that is AWESOME!

I did what you suggested below, but I don't see any terminal (in Windows). The symptom is that 2-byte characters in the pathname of files disappear in the list of scanned files. For example suppose a file name is "2010 [some 2-byte words here]Summer.avi", then the scanned file name looks like "2010 Summer.avi". Though the thumbnail is properly taken and shown in the list, such a file cannot be played on the client side.

Can there be any fix...?

I think theres a problem with the latest version of the server. When scanning my movies/tv show folders it just stops updating the item counter at some point, and it doesn't respond to the "stop scanning" button.

Hi,

I'am trying to use knots on my n810, but I always have problems connecting to the server. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, and I don't know why.
With a usb-eth it works, but browsing is really slow ( no images ). Can anyone give me some hint where to look, cause I really have no clue whats wrong.
