POLL: Off-Topic: How Many Gadgets Do You Carry?
This question came up this past weekend when my GF commented on the amount of gadgets I normally lug around.....
So, imagine that you're going away on a personal/leisure trip for the weekend. What electronic gadgets would you bring with you....? Gadgets I brought was: NIT, Bluetooth Headset, Camera |

I don't think my wife ever used either of her game systems, but the kids certainly played theirs. I used Wayfinder (in dumb, free, non-routing mode) to help find our way to our friends' beach wedding. I also read some email and t.m.o posts using my N810 tethered to my phone on the way home. |

I find it really interesting that so far, out of twelve respondents, all twelve would bring their NIT - but only three people feel the need to supplement it with a laptop.

Re: POLL: Off-Topic: How Many Gadgets Do You Carry?
It varies depending on the need, but I carry quite a few things. The smallest total number of items is typically 1, my cell phone, and the highest can be as much as 15. It depends on what I need that particular day.

Re: POLL: Off-Topic: How Many Gadgets Do You Carry?
I am just packing for a 9 day overseas vacation, and this is my gadget list:
1. My N800 2. iBlue 737 BT GPS receiver 3. digital camera 4. cell phone (ala sjgadsby - my BT modem) 5. tiny USB hub with power adapter 6. USB charging cable for cell phone 7. CA-100 cable to recharge the N800 8. mini USB cable to recharge the GPS (doubles as a wrist lanyard - seen in link above with the USB hub) 9. extra N800 battery with standalone charging dock (slightly larger than the battery itself - uses the NIT charger or the CA-100 to charge battery) 10. 60GB 1.8" hard drive to backup photos (connect N800 and drive to powered USB hub, transfer SD card from camera to external slot on N800 and transfer files over to the hard drive) 11. European power adapter 12. swiss army knife 13. pocket maglite flashlight 14. Case logic PHDC-1 15. BT headset I just bought a friend a fantastic crank flashlight with compass and USB charging tips for common cell phones from Canadian Tire. Those would make pretty good things to store in your car, for instance. |
Re: POLL: Off-Topic: How Many Gadgets Do You Carry?
It really depends on the kind of vacation trip. I usually won't bring my laptop due to the risk of theft so i stick to what i can carry. My gf has also commented on the amount of stuff i bring lol. But she can't complain often due to how often we've used the gps with maemomapper or my dedicated camera for a picture. But on my usual ones it's
Me NIT (doubles as a laptop and mp3 player) camera cellphones bluetooth gps, bluetooth headphones and accompanying cables and chargers maybe my nintendo ds if it's a really really long car ride my dad brings his tomtom gps mom brings portable dvd player for long car rides sister brings psp |

* My 770 and perhaps a bluetooth keyboard and/or my Amod ABG 108 GPS module. * My Aiptek digital movie camera (cheap, but good enough in daylight). * My cell phone (Samsung Katalyst .. really poor in some ways, but does Wifi well). * My Rockboxed Toshiba Gigabeat F40. If I needed more serious/flexible GPS guidance, I'd also bring along my Navigon 2000s. I might anyway, since I like its voice. :-) |
