looking for a 'full screen' theme

I once read a thread with a post where someone mentioned a theme that allowed your background image to bleed out all the way to the screen edges. Anyone know the name of this theme and where to get it?

NuvoClear, perhaps? That screenshot post is part of an entire thread on screenshots and themes. If you're interested in seeing different themes and visual customizations, it may be worth investing some time there.

There's a link at the bottom of Underscore's post, but in case you overlook that, the download is available from NuvoClear's Garage Project page.

thanks, going to check it out now

EDIT: It was easy to setup and I do like the look of having the image go out 'further'.

Only thing is that it sets the transparency on my beloved Yellow-Note applet to way too transparent.

Also, I noticed on the garage page that it had a collection of icons. How do you install new icons on the N810?

Below is a quick screenie of how my N810 looks after applying the new theme:

Thanks for that pointing out to NuvoClear; that's something I've wanted to. Unfortunately, I've not been able to find the wide scrollbar hack, and so I just might be back to echowb until I do.

Nice to see a TinTin fan ! I used to "consume" Tin Tin books as eagerly as the the Marvel comics. Too bad Tin Tin is not too big here in the US (though Spielberg might change that) !

Well said and a vary valid point - I have switched to many of these excellent themes only to have to switch back to Echowb for that wide border scroll bar.

I wish some of these themes standardised on that one aspect - a wide scroll bar please.

Thanks; but that's just what I feared: the wide scrollbars are attached to the theme, not to the system's windowing UI :(

I'll either tolerate this with NuvoClear, or figure out an alternative means of scrolling that nixes the scrollbars completely. Thin is definitely not in on my device.

speaking of marvel (which I'm a big fan of X-men > Storm.) and would love to get a great pic and put it on my desktop then post it for you guys to see, but i was wondering with this NuvoClear how does it work:https://garage.maemo.org/projects/nuvoclear which download do i use and if i use both is one the lay out app and the other for the icons?, i didnt see any good disciption on the page from the link sjgadsby provided of what the download is. can any body shead some light on this for me. I'm a new owner of a n810 and dnt know a lot about these sites and downloads that add such great features. I'd love just to know how to set the desktop like silvermoutains: the pic of my choice and transparent, with only icons and no visible boarders, except i would like not to see the bar at the top just icons like in silvermoutains though, and if its possible maybe even different looking/style icons...

also if you can lead me to which download to use so i can take a screen capture to show you the results:D

Thanks,

Re: looking for a 'full screen' theme

I'd like smaller text with the NuvoClear theme. Otherwise very nice. I have played with Thememaker, editing the large image file to get similar results. I haven't figured out how to adjust the transparency though. (Just editing the the NuvoPearl image file).

Anyone know where I can get the original image file for NuvoClear to use with Thememaker, or give me a quick lesson in how to change the transparency?

When I grew up I was reading;
- Tintin,
- Asterix and Obelix
- Lucky Luke
- Spirou

Some of those were just amazing and it's funny how I still sometimes end up with a picture or statuette by a character from any of them at work ;)
