For YouTube URLs it works! Major thanks!!

Hmmm... I hit a Youtube vid that wouldn't convert!

I got an error page, copied the text, and lovely Opera took the opportunity to crash (sneaky bugger!!!).

Try for yourself and see if it works for you:

Another error:

Invalid key

One of three error occurred:
No key was specified.
The submitted video has not yet been processed.
The submitted video was processed over 24 hours ago and the results deleted.

If you think (2) might be the case, you can check again. There are currently 3 items in the queue.

That's not an error - that's due to it only processing 1 item at a time. As it says, there are currently 3 in the queue, yours may well be one of them. Suggestions for an improved message welcome.

I'll investigate the YouTube vid which doesn't convert after I've worked out why the web server is no longer serving web pages :-(

I *think* the problem is unrelated to VidConvert...

Hmm, there's something funny about that - mplayer can't find any video stream. I'm not sure why.

Anyway, bleb's back and serving web pages, though it may be up and down as I try and narrow down the problem.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Site still just sits there if I try for a file from the 770. Anyone get that bit to work?

Right now, it's moot for meas the 3 files on my 770 are from YouTube.

aflegg 2006-09-17 13:48

Works for me from the 770.

I've just tried a direct link to an AVI, a YouTube page, a Google Video page and an existing AVI I had on my MMC card.

Note that as it's an x64 box, it's not possible to get a RealVideo codec. However MPEG, 3GP, most AVI and probably WMV and MOV files should all be OK.

Mike Cane 2006-09-17 15:33

What feedback should I be getting once I hit the Convert button if I'm telling it to grab a file from my 770? I've gotten a watch icon momentarily, an Uploading dialog momentarily, but I also have the Load plug-in active, and it shows no CPU activity. Seems all dead to me!

aflegg 2006-09-17 15:50

It should go to a page which informs you of the status of the processing, if you've just clicked "Convert" you should have two possible results:

1) "VidConvert Results" - it's either in-processing (and the progress will be shown), or the resulting AVI will be shown.

2) "Please wait" - you're in the queue, and will be processed in turn.

Absolutely nothing happening is very strange. How big is the file on your 770? Could you email it me so I can try?

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Cheers,

Andrew

This OS, even the 2006 flavor, is strange. Just had a catastrophic crash wherein I had to take out the battery! What mag view are you at when you hit Convert? Some page buttons on sites won't work for me unless I'm at 100%. (Nokia, 2006 is beginning to behave like 2005 under heavy use! Why is it that the more I fill on-board Storage things slow down? Is frag taking place here?!!?)

I deleted the .flv vids since they are still on YouTube. Sorry!
