Handheld music composition & recording...

If it can work on an iPhone, it can work on a tablet:

Pretty cool stuff.

What is the highest quality the NITs can record at? (assuming you can run something better than the built-in mic into the audio jack)

//EDIT:

Holy crap, I just watched the video of the band doing the recording. Wild stuff....

How does it work? Mixes 4 samples in real time, and record from mic?... Looks fun. :)

Once I made a program using jack and GTK to mix two tracks live to be a DJ in a party. I played the songs through mplayer, and used midnight commander to select the songs!... Here's the story.

I just saw the video. I didn't understand exactly what they did. From what it looks, they could have used that powerful application just as a metronome and recorder. In the end they mix the song in the desktop... How can we tell there was at least some kind of "monitor" recording (with simultaneous mixing and playback of the previously recorded tracks) going on there?...

I liked the music, tho. :)

Actually, here's what it appeared like to me:

1. Record three tracks and bounce to one (a bunch of times).
2. Transfer music to computer.
3. Master on computer.

This is how I used to do it all the time with a 4-track that was 20-times larger and 100-times heavier than an iPhone. ;)

so Tim...

do you think that someone can create a version of this for us?

Do I think someone can? Yes.

Do I think someone will? Maybe. Why not?

Do I think it would look as cool and work as well as the iPhone app? Unfortunately, probably not. That is, unless a team was formed to do it.

Do I want it to happen? Yes. :)
