Another option would be simply using Katana to download the texts again. Then everything should work fine. |
Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
Thanks joshn53. I actually did not change any settings.
I will have to download again if the issue does not resolve. Though would be a shame to download the same versions twice. I can see that I have a sword folder in /home/user/ What about the way katana just shuts down when I decline to download any translations? Is that normal? |

Just out of curiosity, why would it be a shame to download them again? They're only a couple MB, so it's not like it would take a long time. Quote:

Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
Alright.
It is just that it (super efficiently) found the already downloaded sword files previously but suddenly couldn't. No reason why I can't duplicate to another folder as not large. Rapier has the option to set sword folder location I think. Are you able to let me know where Katana would store the sword folder and I can set the Rapier location to that instead. Some sort of error message would be great instead of just shutting down would be great if one has time later on. Thanks for the replies. |
Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
i have finally installed it and find the application snappy and usable. Got some translations installed, including simplified chinese and find it great as a simple bible reader!
anything else you guys need for me to test? let me know... |
Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
dear Katana developer,
could you please also make a Indonesian translation ? i have googleing around and there is no App Indonesian translation bible. if you could put it in it would be very great. thanks. God bless. |
Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
I raised this question before about why there is no NKJV (or NIV) on Rapier (and presumably Katana) and I was told that it was because it is licensed so you would have to pay for it. But my wife has NKJV on her blackberry and she did not pay for it. So what gives? Why can blackberry users get it free and Maemo users cannot?

Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
I don't know why your wife has those versions free on her blackberry but it is true that the NIV and NKJV are licensed, so are under copyright. I think Zondervan own the NIV rights and Nelson the NKJV.

Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
I guess the NET bible would better suit the Maemo spirit than the NKJV :-)
