Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
Oh yeah, and in regards to my previous post about the text not showing up, it works fine now. I just blammoed the config and restarted Katana, and everything went much better. I suspect the download may have been borked the first time as well, given the difference in download time for the texts.

Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
Just noticed a bug when using PDB files.Katana crashes if you type I using the keyboard in situations like trying to open the book of Isaiah.
This does not happen in with sword bibles. Tried different letters but it seems for pdb files the problem lies with the letter i. |

Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
I got this question via a personal email from the Crosswire folks. I am asking it here for discussion but also want to refer that it should be posted to the Sword Developer mailing list where this discussion is well underway:

Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
Since wine now seems to support arm (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...309#post833309)
Maybee it would be polssible to run e-sword on n900. There is some old winCE versions for E-sword that possibly would run on this machine. Anyone with good knowledge up for a test? Sadly I dont think I have the right knowledge to get it working:( |
Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
why the hell would you want to run a win*** app on your linux phone ?
when there is a great great great bible app in qt, supporting sword and in qt, so supporting autorotation, i've named Katana !!! I've used Rapier before Katana came to live but UI was awful, but now there is Katana an UI is just Well... So don't be sad for crappy OSes things which don't work on your shiny OS and let be happy with what you have or can have, you will surely see that your joy is already existing (PS : i saw just today that N900 have a real Spotify client : QSpot, because others was not satisfaying for me...) |
Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)
There are many reasons why it would be nice to run apps not maded for linux on n900. E-swrod i such a program. I have used Katana and it is a realy good program but e-sword has an edge when it comes to have study material gatherd in one apps. And sewcondly for those who have used an app earlier there are working material yuo have that you can not move to other apps easly.
So as always inthe best of world we wold have had one OS for all computer related machines and one good app for each thing we do. Now we have NOT! so we are stucked to try to fit many things together. |

In respect to that view, what exactly are you looking for from e-Sword that you would like to see on your Maemo device? And then having stated what it is you are looking for, would you be apt to assist in the development, testing, etc. of such a feature if it indeed works best on a handheld device (and not already in the queue to be added)? |
