Hints in N900... Can it be Ovi for Linux, Mac?

Or announcement about "Maemo Devices" spin-off (with line-up).

If you mean Ovi Suite then it's already been confirmed that it is coming to Mac. Sadly, I think that Linux version isn't coming (at least not in near future). But I'll appreciate any effort to make Ovi integrate with Linux so hopefully we hear something about this.

Tomorrow's announcement(s) will most likely be in this keynote:
09:40 Nokia Keynote: Delivering on People & Places
Niklas Savander, Executive Vice President, Services, Nokia

Even if the X6 wasn't the special thing, I think you're all underestimating Comes With Music. Without the N900, I would definitely be getting the X6. It's even rather pretty.

Well ok, the DRM would be a showstopper for me, but I'm trying to think like the average consumer for once.

Thinking like the average customer: purchsae a device and get unlimited music downloads for 12-18mos, uhmmm. It sounds good. How much is it for me to do that with iTunes?

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but in many cases the former will be significantly cheaper.

I wonder if the music can be played back on your notebook\pc?

Further announcements are going to be made tomorrow, and near the demo N900s (although it may not be related) were various screens with a sign saying "Come back tomorrow".

In an all-you-can-eat paradigm where the user wants all of that music, CwM is cheaper. To others, all that music might not be what they want and they'd only want to pay for what they'd listen to. In that case, iTunes/Amazon (usually) would be cheaper.

Thinking like an average consumer, ignoring economic relaities, this is what's on the table.

Yes, and the "more" part of the market may be rather large, especially since the whole package is only 450e (let alone the X3). The X-series could become more popular than we might think.

But that depends on Comes with Music having a good user interface. I've never tried it, so I don't know. If it loses the DRM, I might get it with the Harmattan device.

Edit: plus, CwM basically also gives you a customizable radio channel on your phone, which is worth something too.

I stayed up all night waiting for the other shoe to drop. Instead I got to see some stuff about posting maps to Facebook, a couple of iPod clones, and way, way too much about the N97 Mini.

The most frustrating thing? The N900 was almost a throwaway at the end of the webcast, and presented with so much dreary blather that the joy was sucked out of it.

So, wait another day? I can do that.
