n810 touchscreen stopped "clicking"
I recently got a used n810, and I really enjoy it. Today, though, the satisfying 'CLICK' sound stopped happening when I tap the screen. Is there a system setting I can check?

Re: n810 touchscreen stopped "clicking"
Nope, it's not the speakers. Every other sound works fine. It's only the touchscreen clicks that have stopped. And of course rebooting was the first thing I tried.

Re: n810 touchscreen stopped "clicking"
What about other sound effects, like the key "typing" sound?

Re: n810 touchscreen stopped "clicking"
It's the multimediad. When it's not running or it's borked you can still play music, but some system sounds (tap and key click) stop working. If this is not over your head, try the following:
open a terminal become root type: /etc/init.d/multimediad stop<return> /etc/init.d/multimediad start<return> see what it says and check if this fixed your problem also, do a ps and see if /usr/sbin/multimediad is running |

This issue happens to me in my N810 device. I need to re-flash the system. This appear to be an absence of "tick" sound. |
Re: n810 touchscreen stopped "clicking"
Rebooting the system should actually help, cause it happens with my device and rebooting works.
Give a 'clear-device'. Don't load your screen with too many touches, it hurts it! :P |
Re: n810 touchscreen stopped "clicking"
As I've tried to point out, rebooting does not help. And the touchscreen "tick" is the ONLY thing that doesn't work. The ONLY thing. This started happening after I ran Android (which, if you ask me, is a useless and dumb piece of junk).

Re: n810 touchscreen stopped "clicking"
Can you tell us specifically what you did to go from Android back to Maemo.

Re: n810 touchscreen stopped "clicking"
Nothing. This started as soon as I installed Android. I uninstalled Android a couple of days later.

My understanding was the Android install came with its own kernel. If so, I'm guessing you reflashed something after you "uninstalled" Android. At least the kernel. Yes? If not, then if I were you I might do a full BRR. |
