And that was one thing Engadget said, eventually you'll hit a few places where the WinMo show's itself, but it's a very small fraction, and I'm sure down the road, HTC updates will fix those.

The HTC HD2 does indeed have a wizzy processor and ram, according to the specs. The OS makes me a bit leery of that: every single new version of anything from microsoft I've ever had has come with faster speeds and more ram - because every incarnation of windows has needed that just to function. My main objections were to the capacative screen (I'd much rather work with resistive), lack of a hard keyboard (the device I played with I couldn't type on) and a rather low quality camera with poor optics v a Carl Zeiss lens. That and the fact that getting into windows mobile at this stage is climbing onto something that, even with version 7 due, is ultimately old and cranky, whereas maemo is distinctly newborn.

I don't want an n900 because it's new and shiny (well, I do but that's not my main concern!) but because I've done my research and decided it's the best option for me at this point.

Yeah, I totally agree with you on the last part 'best option for me', I don't just say well I like this because it's new, I compare and research just like everyone else ( it would be stupid not to when spending this amount of money ) I primarily use my phone for work i.e.email, word documents, graph's, etc, but I also like to throw allot of music, videos, games, etc since I'm flying all the time. So for me it's a like 50/50, I like the N900 primarily because I have other Nokia products ( E90, E71 ) and absolutely love them, I also have a 3GS ( which is fun for certain things, but not quite functional because of it's size and no actual keyboard ) which I'm getting rid of to help offset w/e phone I purchase next. I had a Moto Q along time ago, and didn't really mind the WinMo operating system nor did I notice any problems.

I won't lie, that looks like a REALLY nice device. But a device that thin, and that big of a screen, that has to eat up a lot of battery power! haha. I'm still keen on the N900 :) The full qwerty is a selling point for me. :)

A major drawback for WM is that it runs on a huge variety of hardware. No application developer in their right mind will choose to target a single device.

This particular Snapdragon will have a lot of free time on its hands (wings?) while it effortlessly runs what 90% of other WM phones can already handle. Shiny toy you'll have, but not software that can make the most of it.

I'd really like to see a healthy competition from WM, but we'll have to wait until WM 7 is out.

See the keyboard is a huge plus for me solely because on the iPhone I always manage to hit a different key then the one I intended but with a 4.3" screen almost one full inch bigger and after watching that vid on Engadget it looks like that problem would be solved.

Look at your last two sentences there. There are no alternatives to this phone IMO. If you think there are, this may not be the phone for you is what I'm saying. The iPhone and Windows mobile will never be an option to me. I used Symbian a lot in the past, but it wasn't the DEAL either. This is the DEAL, at least for me.

on screen is on screen. Regardlesso f the screen size. I like the tactile feedback.

Okay but that's you, not me or him. What you want need in a phone is totally different than from what I need or use it for, and thinking that what I said is wrong because it doesn't go along with your line of thinking or because I mentioned a particular product you dislike is very ethnocentric.

Very true, because the OS is on multiple platforms developers are usually going to want to develop for the larger audience. But since Windows Mobile can multi-task that just means you can use the additional horsepower for more multi-tasking.
