They are waiting for htc, apple, rim and even moto take more of their market share. Mugs - the lot of them at Nokia.

Doubtful, otherwise every unlocked phone ever made by every cell company would probably get delayed so they could make sure they had the 'approval' of the networks that the phone 'might' be operating on.

I used my E90 on both AT&T and now T-Mobile, and I'm sure Nokia never asked them for permission. The service providers need the cell companies, otherwise it's just a name neither products or service.

Well, I think everybody meets with the though N900 is not "another" phone, in the sense that it works more like a computer than like a phone, has skype integrated and some other things like flash no other phones have had before. Also, there are some rumours there are operators rejecting to sell N900. But I think, even if all operators finally agree on letting N900 working on their networks, Nokia may want to have everything tied up before releasing the device.

This release seems no different to any other Nokia launch to me. There's always a period of weeks where nobody knows what's going on.

When the N82 "launched" I couldn't find it for sale anywhere! The launch date went right past and Nokia said it was launched but I couldn't find it anywhere except ebay. In the end that's where I had to get it because despite being released in October it wasn't for sale in Europe until late December/January.

It's just another one of these things Nokia does poorly. Perhaps if we understand how the organisation operates we'd know why it has to be this what but from the outside it's annoying.

Could be, but the latest scuttlebutt in T-mo rumorland is that the n97 mini would be subsidized by T-mobile USA, not the n900.

Whether or not the rumor is true, personally, I think that the n97 mini would make more sense for T-mobile to subsidize as a flagship device. I love Maemo, but I'm not sure that T-mobile would (allegedly) showcase as it's knight in shining armor an expensive device that isn't even marketed as a phone, when there are some safer choices out there.

Hmm, looks like my Duke Nukem Forever download just finished. I guess that means my N900 will be here soon.

It's wireless. Using the accelerometer ( you'll notice as he moves the phone the image moves along with it ), and I'm assuming either Bluetooth or infrared for it's connection.

Holy ****, that comes out to only $503.64 USD. Might have to get my buddy who lives in Scotland to pick one up for me ( even with shipping it's still cheaper ). Also importing products from England to the US won't get import tax on it as long as the value is below $800 USD.
