That's why I always take the Nokia route, even if it is more expensive. Nokia has always shipped their pre-orders before other distributors starting shipping their orders. I also like getting an extra year of warranty from Nokia USA -- especially when I am paying so much for a mobile device.

Just called Nokia. Rather than the immediate response I have been getting recently of Mid Oct. I got "I dont have that information"

Its seriously time for Nokia to stop dicking around and give us a solid release date on this thing.

Lol this thread is hilarious. There was no shipping date ever mentioned by Nokia apart from the month of October, the gnashing of teeth is great. I remember feeling that way about the wii when it came out then the disappointment when it was just another game system made me realize lusting after gadgets is probably the most ridiculous thing one could do with one's time :p

Those Amazon answers look like a standard Amazon response to a delivery date query for a pre-order.

I think you will find the date given is always TWO MONTHS after the date the pre-order was placed.

I got a similar response.

Anyone who has an Amazon pre-order - try emailing them and see if you get a date that is 2 months after the date you placed your pre-order.

You are right no date was mentioned except October (mid October on several occasions). Well here we are in Mid October and we haven't had a status update on this since the n900 first saw the light of day.

I am not asking for much when I ask for at least SOME idea of when my 700 dollar investment is likely to ship. Even if that turns out to be Nov etc - it would be friggin nice to have an idea so that I can plan business trip etc accordingly

yup, the amazon 60 day rule, whereby if they haven't delivered your item within 60days of your order date, they will email you to better inform you/ offer you similar

all basically reading something into nothing

i like reading these posts, i can just about wait, as i know it will be worth it in the end

They won't. You'll know it's out when it shows up on ebay.
