A. Berri says:
Well I ordered mine on September 29th and paid for the overnight shipping method. I then emailed Amazon last night and they emailed back saying that they do have the N900 on hand but can't ship any of them since it hasn't been officially announced or released yet. Well I wanted to know more info such as when I should expect my device to be shipped so I called them this morning.

She looked in the system and said she doesn't even show an expected date of shipment under my order number. According to some people here, some of you guys are getting your phones sometimes in December? If so, when did you place your order? I'm guessing since I placed my pre-order sooooo late and the fact there isn't even a date of expected shipping on my order number...what does this mean? That I will get it like end of December or January even???? Now I'm really starting to get confused and upset.

I mean I understand if I'm not going to be a part of the 1st or 2nd batch of shipments but when your shipping is delayed due to first come first serve, you expect a delay of about like 2-3 weeks MAX! Not 2-3 Months!!!

I'm contemplating whether I should cancel my order and put my order through with someone else and now that I hear T-Mobile is coming out with the N900 (Project Dark Rumors almost 100% confirmed but still not sure when the N900 will release with T-Mobile) I'm thinking of just getting it with T-Mobile. Gee I dunno what to do anymore???

Ok, I'm waiting for someone to write something up that draw parallels of Amazon exercising such control to DRM content distribution model and that we should be setting up a class action lawsuit against them next.

Go for it..

Re: Did Your N900 Ship Today?

jolo stated in apps feedback thread that "Please note now 300 devices were given out at the Maemo Summit, so there are people with the device now."

So somewhere on the globe Nokia is having production line up&running. Those 300 are not made by hand. Now it's a matter of copying that production line over the factory / factories. But that one line at least is producing.

Bratag 2009-10-12 17:27

Re: Did Your N900 Ship Today?

@jaaksi tells: 300 N900 pre-production models for Maemo Summit 2009 participants for 6 months to play around. #maesum

After 6 months the devices will be returned, to be replaced by .... 300 N900 pre-production models as the N900 release date drifts into Duke Nukem Forever territory

:)

ysss 2009-10-12 17:33

Re: Did Your N900 Ship Today?

I'm guessing the 300 will be replaced either with production units...

....OR.... N920 pre production units.

Okay, been doing investigation. AMAZON HAS OUR N900 devices!!!!!.
Apparantely there are 2 fullfillment centers here in PHX AZ, a coworkers nephew(yes i already know how that sounds/but its true) started working there last week and says the devices were delivered there, and are on their manifest. They said they have been processed to people who preorderd it but SINCE there is NO street date from nokia recieved , they are holding on to them till otherwise. (apparently to prevent fines). This is real talk. i have been investigation all morning, i will drive by the wharehouse this evening on my way home and try to catch an employee there to verify again.

Does anyone else have a dramatic spy tv-show music going off in their head when they read this? IŽll just wait until I get my device, thereŽs so many dates and things flying around.

What do you expect... we were suppose to get this thing at the end of September, now we find out Amazon has the phones, but for some odd reason, yet unexplained, Nokia doesn't want to announce a release date...I say kidnap the higher echelon of Nokia's executive board and make them watch the same Barney episode over, and over, and over again...

Re: Did Your N900 Ship Today?

I am glad that I did not pre-order. I get my laptop for college in November (3 months late because of Windows 7...), and that should hold me over until the N1000 shows up. Or at least until the N900 is 300 dollars.

"If you haven't received a shipment confirmation by Dec 1, 2009, please contact us again"

That just seems like a "i'll give you a date two months away so you'll stop bothering us" type reply.

I hope you're not serious. Are you familiar with the term trespassing?

Well actually... come to think of it. Think of all the bad press Amazon and Nokia would get if your arrest got on the news. People may cancel their pre-orders, and that would mean I'd get mine quicker.

YES! Go to Amazon tonight cause a ruckus! Refuse leave without verifying a shipping date!

Haha don't count me out, I live in MD (only about an hour away with traffic from D.C.)

It's nice living near Amazon and Newegg warehouses. The free shipping option for most products arrive in 3 days!

Thanks! I've been reading the forum for the past year and half (I have a n800). However, I figured it was about time since I pre-ordered a n900.
