Re: Did Your N900 Ship Today?

Depending on how efficient customs and the retail channel you are using (and shipping method), everyone could get the device during the first week of November.

Test units were just sent out this weekend and Nokia is still working on the firmware. I would rather get a fairly stable and ready device for $620 rather than a buggy test unit. I can wait.

I guess my G1 still has a few more weeks of love.

I wish my first could be a more positive one but here it goes anyway. I ordered from nokiausa.com and have yet to receive any information regarding my shipment. When I woke up this morning, my bank texted me saying that a charge has gone through to Nokia so I thought they might have actually shipped it. I was wrong.

The anticipation is killing me!

I just canceled my pre-order from Nokia USA and decided to pre-order from buy.com (I save $160 by doing this). Has anyone had any problems with buying things from buy.com? This is my first time ordering from them.

I've been buying from them for years, no issues. Usually pretty fast at doing things.

almost tempted to cancel and wait :p

i know you had to use up the overstock of n97 screens, but a slightly(3.7/8) bigger screen would have been cool i suppose :(

Well, bigger screen means less battery life, bigger device, so everything is a balancing act.

The HD2 does not have a keyboard. If you are a gamer or heavy typer, VK's kind of suck.

i won't cancel though, i need the hardware keyboard, and more importantly i need a good device now

i'll just buy the hd2 for my mom, it's probably more user friendly

Re: Did Your N900 Ship Today?

OMG I GOT AN EMAIL FROM AMAZON!!!! POSTING HERE BEFORE I EVEN READ IT!!!!

Hello,

Looking into your order, I see that " Nokia N900 Unlocked Cell Phone/Mobile Computer with 3.5-Inch Touch Screen, QWERTY, 5 MP Camera, Maemo Browser, 32 GB--U.S. Version with Full Warranty " has not yet been released. I'm sorry about this delay-we certainly didn't expect that this would happen.

We normally obtain this item from a supplier who can usually send it to us within 2 to 3 weeks from the time your order is placed; however, in this case, the supplier has taken longer than expected to respond to us.

We sent an e-mail notification as soon as we learned from our supplier that the status of this item had changed. Unfortunately, our reliance on suppliers and manufacturers for information about their stock means that, occasionally, our database will not reflect all changes.

However, I see that the current estimated ship and delivery date for your order is:

Estimated Ship Date: Dec 7, 2009
Estimated Delivery Date: Dec 18, 2009

Since we have several fulfillment centers across the U.S., the items in your order may sometimes be in stock at different locations. When you place your order, we estimate your ship date based on three factors

1. The proximity of your items to the delivery address you provide
2. How quickly we can obtain the items from suppliers if that is required
3. How quickly we can assemble items for shipment

Also, please note that for most shipping methods, items that are ordered on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday may not ship out until the following Monday.

If you'd rather cancel your order, I understand. You may cancel unshipped item online by following these steps and I would like to request you please return to our website and place a new order by choosing our third party seller who is having this item currently "Instock".

1. Click the "Your Account" link at the top of our web site.
2. Click the link that says "Cancel orders."
3. Sign in with your e-mail address and password.
4. Click the "View or change order" button on the relevant order.
5. Click the button that says "Need to cancel an item?"
6. Click the checkbox next to "Cancel 1 item" for any items you'd
like to cancel.
7. Click the "Cancel checked items" button.

You'll receive an e-mail confirmation of your cancellation.

Otherwise, we will ship as soon as we receive from our supplier.

If you haven't received a shipment confirmation by Dec 7, 2009, let us know by visiting the URL below:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contac...my-stuff.html/

In addition to our large selection, one of the benefits we'd like to offer our customers is convenience, and we have not met that standard in this case. Please accept our sincere apologies.

We appreciate your business and hope that you will give us the chance to serve you again in the near future.

Mother fsckers!

Anyways, this does hold with the theory a dozen pages back that Amazon is just giving estimated dates that are 2 months out (aligns with when I preordered in October). Hopefully this is a lie and I'll be pleasantly surprised.

PS

The tags stopped being funny.
