Looks like almost all Nokia and retail reps are now on the same date window for shipping of October 30th. Probably means that is the real planned date.

Question is this the date to retail or to consumers?

There is no N900.

Good one!

I think you should have go for this one:

"Remember, remember the 5th of November..." :(

LOL!

Just had Royal Mail drop a phone shaped box off wit me! Went to the door thinking what the hell have I ordered, the only thing I'm waiting for is the N900 but that'll be Nov! Was really rather confused and excited, wondering if they had got them in stock early at MPD, and sent it out. Only to find that it was a boring Sky router replacement.

Oh how Royal Mail/Sky teased me!

Sorry had to because that was just to funny :D

I heard that some guy's brother in Arizona saw a warehouse full of them, but really it wasn't a warehouse, but a military base. It's connected by underground tunnel to ROSWELL NEW MEXICO.

The CIA is doing everything in its power to stop the the N900 (and its alien technology) from being released to the world, especially if anyone can program the thing. They even got the Nobel people to give Obama the peace prize so he has an excuse to the Scandinavian countries (with a stop in Espoo) to convince Nokia to just drop the product and move on.

I think that's the date to retail, a week or so ago (think it was that long ago), I spoke with MPD and they told me they were expecting them in stock Oct 30th, and should be arriving to doors from Sat 31st Oct onwards!

As you wish... (Princess Bride, my vote for best movie of all time...)

Remember, remember, the 5th of November,
Fremantle, Maemo and phone.
I see no reason
Why N900 season
Would not be at my home

Or something

I had a look at that link, and scrolled down to the section headed "Customers who bought this item also bought...", and I must say I find some of the entries a little disturbing.

The full list is:

Star Trek - The Original Series Remastered (OK...)
SanDisk microSDHC 16GB card and various other microSD cards (sure, makes sense...)
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Full Version (what???)
Sin City 2-Disc edition Blu-Ray (OK...)
PS3 Wireless keypad (I suppose so...)
Planet Earth complete BBC series DVD (if you say so...)
SLX Gold digiTop amplified indoor TV aerial (right...)
Braun Oral-B 9900 Triumph £68 electric toothbrush (what???)

This is why Google laughed at Microsoft when Bing said it would make intelligent decisions on similar search terms. They said they already tried it years ago and it just doesn't work haha.

Inigo: He's dead. He can't talk.

Miracle Max:Hoo hoo hoo! Look who knows so much, heh? Well, it
just so happens that your friend here is only mostly
dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead
and all dead. Please, open his mouth. Now, mostly
dead is slightly alive. Now, all dead...well, with
all dead, there's usually only one thing you can do.

Inigo: What's that?

Miracle Max:Go through his clothes and look for loose change.

air in.]

Hey! Hello in there! Hey! What's so important? What
you got here that's worth living for?

Probably. My order on Expansys says 9 days, but the N900 oage says Nov 1st. Anyway, last week it said Nov 2nd, so a bump up of a day is fine by me...

Read your blog, enjoyed the viewpoint. Your usage model (wifi, occasionaly dataplan when traveling) is exactly mine in the foreseeable future. I use my N810 exactly like that (no phone, natch, but I use Boingo when traveling and the beastie is a lovely skype phone). The real reason for my N900 order is speed-related, I guess, but I also like shiny things, and I'll use the phone as a phone (no data) to replace my current 2 device strategy.

I have a similar problem: Here in finland the release date has been told to be in week 44-45 (original release date that was given when ordering in day one - I haven't put much weight on other speculations after that)

But since my iPhone does not show the week numbers, I do not know when this is !!!

I guess there is a part of the planet that keeps track and tells time by the week of the year, or the phase of the Solstice. Possibly they use a Sundial to tell time also! But for the rest of us, it makes no sense.

How about dates people!

Even the finest phone is not the N900 itself.
Even the finest description is insufficient to define it.
Not through words and pictures can the N900 be experienced,
but once in hand, the N900 can be truly known.
-- Lao Tzu

Re: Did Your N900 Ship Today?

Ordained Catholic priest and monk Thomas Merton said:
“The only way to get rid of misconceptions about the N900 is to experience it. One who does not actually know, in his own life, the nature of this Maemo breakthrough and this new level of phone functionality cannot help being misled by most of the things that are said about it. For Maemo 5 cannot be simply talked about. It cannot even be clearly explained to those who haven't experienced it. It must be lived to be understood. The more one tries to analyze it from a distance, the more he empties it of its real beauty, for the N900 experience is beyond the reach of verbalization and of rationalization.“ - from New Seeds of Contemplation

I'm getting in on this:

"I've seen enough things to know that if you just keep on going, if you turn the corner, and see a Nokia N900, the sun will be shining."

"I've seen too much in life to give up, the N900 is just around the corner"

"My ministry's always been one of social activism. I think a responsible minister must be at some levels be involved in social networking, and for this there is no better tool than the Nokia N900."
