did anyone else see a change in there preorder from amazon when asked to verify the extension to Nov, the new invoice listed the price as 588.99 instead of 582.99 ...I was just wondering if it was just me that got the raise in price..

I haven't been asked to verify an extension to Nov. So maybe the following isn't helpful, but...

I pre-ordered from Amazon USA September 19, 2009.

Order still says, "Not Yet Shipped:
Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date. You can cancel at any time."

The price still says, $582.99.

I'd be surprised if Amazon didn't amend your invoice to your original preorder, if you email them about it.

Funny thing, the polish online nokia shop still says
Which means that it should get shipped in October.
So... It gives us like 10% chance it'll get shipped today, and the chance for "today" increases every day :)

haha i checked my inbox today when i got home and i had a email from amazon saying your order has shipped. I got so excited i was about to come here and post but then i looked and it was something else i had ordered a few days ago...

I think the tags are being edited. There was a 'sensitive one' about zebras a few days ago which has vanished. The tags, like the n900 release date, have become fluid and flexible,

If something happens, and Nokia comes out and says "we ****ed up, but can guarantee it'll be here by Jan of Feb of next year" I'm going to go ape ****. At this rate of the delivery date changing 20 times a day, don't be surprised if something like that happens...

I've just emailed Mobile Phones Direct asking how exclusive their n900 release date is. They did have 'Exclusive - 30th release date', stated on their page. That changed last week to just Exclusive - end of October... They should know by now!

So I went to this gipsy fair circus amazon magic ball fortune teller palm reader mystic kind of women yesterday.... and asked her about the N900, if she could tell me, for certain, when I would hold the N900 in my hands.

I tried to get my money back, for suddenly a lot of monkeys tried to attack me, and since I did not have the N900 to fend of with, I made a run for it.

So euhm, just thought I'd share this with you.... Too weird to be true, I know! But hey, at least we will have the device in our hands in November! :)

called Nokia Germany 5 Minutes ago.
I've said, that a friend of mine (kingofkingz24) told me, that the N900s will ship tomorow, if this is true.
She said, that she don't know, it's possible, but the only official known date is the 30 October.
She also said, that it is possible, that we get our devices before the official date, with a letter "surprise, here is your beloved N900" from Nokia.
And she also said, that they have enough devices to fullfill every preorder.
Then she looked into my preorder and said, that I will be one of the first who will get it. :-D

Hey zehjotkah, I preordered from Nokia Germany, too, and just sent a message to them, asking the same as you did. Let's see what they'll answer. I preordered mine on 29th August. When did you place your preorder?
