First post and I'm pretty sure this has already been posted a bunch, but here is the conversation I had with nokia a few minutes ago on their nokiausa website.

Paul: Hello, welcome to Nokia. I am a Nokia Sales Representative, may I assist you finding a device today?

You: nope, just had a question.

You: do you have any idea when the n900 will be shipping in the us?

You: preferrably a specific date.

Paul: The N900 will be launched in the last week of October

Paul: Don't have the exact date yet

You: thanks thats it.

Do you guys think websites like Buy.com and Amazon will follow shipment the same day as Nokia, also does anyone know if Amazon have stock for the phones, i've heard rumors but nothing confirmed.

If I were Nokia, I would at least announce Nokia availability at the very least 24 hours ahead of the other vendors. Preferably more.

Other people in this thread have stated that in the past they actually received their new phones from Amazon before Nokia even sent out theirs.

A guy from Amazon.com says " Alright guys Finally got some good news i just called clubmac store and they were saying that they will receive the nokia n900 on october 20, 2009 and they will ship it out the same day if you buy it from them. so most likely amazon will receive the device on the 20th hopefully."

I called Clubmac.com they said that the current estimate is 2 to 5 weeks.

I also called clubmac.com they said they received 3 tomorrow, but its gone so its backordered. They said the 2nd week they will receive more on the 2nd week of november.

If indeed other places do ship before my direct order from Nokia - I will be, to put it mildly, Severely pissed off and am going to have to swear a lot at some poor bastard on the Nokia sales line

I just spoke to Clubmac.com also, the shipment comes in october 20th and all the preorders are already taken. He said they get shipment weekly and it ships out same day, and he was pretty sure that the date is when the phones come in.

Glad to hear it. I do not have a representative at Clubmac and I did not push the issue of when they were arriving. I hope the people saying tomorrow are right.

Yeah thats what the spokesperson told me too when I called them. We are all on the page!! Im not sure about the 2-3 weeks!

I called Sparco.com and the first release date is Oct 22nd... and when there inventory runs out its gonna be Nov 16th and Nov 20th for to other of there warehouses...

So i concur for Oct 22nd!

Having bet on a date less than 5 days off from the actual date of receiving your N900 makes you win 20% of the amount of betters' thanks'.

(f.e. Bet is placed on monday 11th, n900 delivered on wednessday the 13th will give you 30% of the amount of betters' thanks'. thursday 14th and you win 0%)

I spoke to the main Nokia shop today in manchester and the manager said they would have the n900 in on this :Dfriday :D23/10/2009 so looks like i will be canceling my order with nokia direct ....or maybe put it up on fleabay:)

It seems that Nokia has outsourced Nokia Online Shop to Digital River (http://www.digitalriver.com/) and shop's logistic and delivery is outsourced to PFSweb (http://www.pfsweb.com/), a big logistic company in the Netherlands. The chain is probably so long that left arm doesn't know what the right one does...

Great just spoke to ****ing Nokia USA. The lovely lady there told me

"We have no units in the warehouse ready to ship - they have not arrived yet"

So that ****ing well bodes well doesnt it.

"Oh no sir keep your order with Nokia - yours will be one of the first units shipped anywhere, nokia support etc etc"

I just thought it was UPS who was the courier who has a large hub in the nederlands. Doesn't all UPS packages go through there?
I know they do so with apple products.
