That would be awesome :D I'm sure the Italian & Spanish versions are very similar, if not identical, so I'm sure they'd be shipping VERY soon :D I can't wait to get my hands on this device. I'm ordering up a spare battery and battery charger today ^^

amazon.com has buy new instead of pre-order, same with buy.com

Edit: I don't remember what the page said before, but when I check my order it says processing, then in the shipping process on buy.com.

For those who ordered from buy.com, what status if your order?
Mime turned to "sent to warehouse" but I think its because I had to verify some CC info. Is "sent to warehouse" just the usual stage after placing any order?

Amazon charged my card this afternoon for the full $567.48 ( I had an Amazon credit ). No email from them, but they did charge my card in full for the pre-ordered N900.

So is nokia shipping it to all distributors on the 16th/19th or is it just amazon? I purchased mine from mobilecityonline and they still have an expected arrival date of November 5th

Also, gsmarena changed their release date for the N900 from October to November...not sure how reliable their sources are though

Actually I have now been told by Nokia USA on two separate occasions that Mid Oct is the date and earlier if they can possibly manage it. There was no hedging - it was two separate individuals and two separate days. I would be VERY surprised if we didnt see them before W3 of October.

I remember you from the innocent early Android days. Funny how a great premise can be screwed up by poor app memory management and a big bottle neck known as the bite code java layer.

Really does look like Maemo is what Android should have been. Open and more efficient coding platform :)

I ordered mine through Amazon, so I am guessing that alone and free shipping equals "lucky to get by end of month".

Hey mate. Yeah android dropped the ball for me. It looks like they are going to try solve the issue by simply throwing more hardware at the problem. Not a good solution in my opinion. Add to that the fact that 1.6 broke stuff in my apps and Google cannot figure out WHY and WHAT changed in their own OS. I am very much OVER Android.

On amazon.de there's an amazon seller who claims to have it "in stock". It seems to be a serious shop. So it looks as if shipping has begun.
