The 'Mom' that calls during the n900 video - too young?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhTtsZATwBQ

She's like 20 years old! Who is the n900 targeted at? The six-year-old kids of teenage mothers?

Finnish moms are just hotter for longer.

My biggest gripe about that video is all the stupid glowy animation at the beginning. 20 seconds of that crap!

People are sold on flashy, shiny, glowing things with epic music. For people who've not looked into the n900 before, those 20 seconds are going to be the difference between "looks kinda cool i guess" to "holy **** I want one of those!"

I know this, because I am one of those people

If I had my way, they'd be even more epic. Somehow.

Bad news. There's no swirling, glowing pixie dust in the N900, no matter what that ad suggests ;)

That's actually the reverse of what it looks like when you explode your N900 with a pressure-washer.

lies.

N900s are made of diamond dust and high energy physics. It says so in the promotional videos. Stop spreading misinformation, it's only a prototype device! :p

No, sadly, the owner of the pixie dust powered N900 featured in the video is actually a twenty year old himself. Problem is, he uses Hermes to keep the contact information on his phone up to date, and well, Mom's on Facebook. She took Dad running off with that that bimbo hard, and now she's loaded that old photo of herself as her profile pic to better accompany the desperately flirty messages she posts to her son's roommate's wall. So, it's good the N900 multitasks well, for every display of that picture when Mom calls inspires another submission on fmylife.com.

Finally a rational explanation. - they should put this on the end of the video

A public service announcement:

A cougar has been spotted in your area. Very dangerous. Do not approach or respond to her flirty posts on your Facebook wall.

Walt Disney would be sad. .

I think the mom could be any age up to 40 in that video. Could anyone really see any wrinkles at that size/resolution even if she has them? I just hope they leave that one contact record for Mom in the production units. :)

Pixie dust is only for the exclusive use of sysadmin's.
As I've explained to people before red pixie dust for hardware, blue pixie dust for networks - it fixes all problems ;-)

I was gonna go with Botox, but that makes much more sense.

To me it sounds like I am dreaming of my perfect device until my mom calls me and wakes me up to the real world.

(but that the device on the bedside table (nightstand?) is real :D)

wtf. that is the most coolest part in a cellphone ad forever....

e: and the mom could be even 40+ in the picture. looks pretty professional so good photographer + retouching and voila.

What ruins it for me is that user can make his phone do all those amazing things and still has the effing nokia ringtone???? Nope. Just lost all credibility - even pixie dust doesn't justify that.

I propose Ludacris' "Move *****" to be the default ringtone.

IMHO penguins are for Linux as Nokia Tune is to Nokia... Something you just can't rid yourself!

Personally I like Nokia Tune, but I have my limits too :-)

I dunno what you're talking about. I like it. :D

Besides, I'm sure that it's like any other phone where you can change the ringtones. Nokia ringtone is mostly just set to the mood of the video and the company representing it...Nokia! :B

The N900 lets you choose any audio file (well at least any mp3, don't know about other formats) as your ringtone... But if the video used some personal tune, the viewer might not realize it was a phone ringing...

Re: The 'Mom' that calls during the n900 video - too young?

Or this Nokia tune.. .from the 2009 Star Trek movie:

(16 seconds into it)

Do you know if we can set a ringtone per person? Or is it only per group (like my existing bottomline cell phone).

I forgot to comment on the "Mom" at the end of the video ad. Really, if she is as young as the OP says she is...then that means she's a MILF and she's one MILF I'd be happy to have calling me. ;)

Unless it was your own mum - as suggested by the ad
