Ironically. it still went off at 5:33 and then it went off at 6:10. Both times working perfectly. Clearly this is not right since there is not a way to set more than one alaram per day from the flipclock menu. So I deleted /var/lib/alaram/*queue and all the .flipclock* stuff in ~/.

I am guessing that somehow 2 flipclock instances have been trying to run at the same time at 5:33? Perhaps that could explain why the audio cuts out completely sometimes, either with the maemo alarm or flipclock.

That would explain things, I've had problems when testing before if I had alarms set on earlier versions and manually upgraded the package... anyways hopefully all sorted now! if you run into odd stuff like that again in the future there's always "flipAlarmSync clear clear clear" rather than deleting your entire alarm queue ;-) Also latest package calls that clear command on uninstall, so you should be able to uninstall/re-install to do the same thing. Anyways you've taken care of it now tho...

As for the international font stuff, I'll have to have a look and play around with it some more; I'm messing with the fonts on another app at the moment and I think I know what's causing it now so hopefully I can get it sorted out for everyone.

AGAIN, IF YOURE USING AN N900, DONT USE INSOMNIAC MODE... it doesn't work properly as everyone has been reporting. We;re working on it, but right now audio playback is more important... though I think it's just a missing package (anyone tried it with "gstreamer-plugins-ugly" installed?)

Thanks!

Hmm, well the same thing happened this morning too. It went off at 5:33 and then at 6:10 I heard the alarm open up but no sound ever played. I ran "flipAlarmSync clear clear clear" and "cleared flip alarm" displayed about 15 times. Normal??

I also noticed after clearing with flipalarmsync, the small alarm icon in the top right of the maemo OS disappeared (first time in months)

To get my alarms to sync again I had to delete all the flipclock stuff in ~/

From this "clean" state (nothing in ~/ and alarm icon off), when first running flipclock and flipping through the menus I get a segfault. If I open flipclock up and quickly schedule an alarm or change some other options it will remain segfault free.

Do you still have the ~/.flipClockPrefs.xml file in place? The segfault maybe related to some file missing in your tablet. Can you show the debug messages before the segfault? That will give me a hint of what's going on and maybe I will write some defensive code to avoid the segfault... :)

Re: FlipClock Beta

It is harder to reproduce than I thought. This was on the alarm set screen while trying to set an alarm. ran rm -rf ~/.flip* prior
http://utilitybase.com/paste/26584

update:
ok I think I can reliably reproduce it now. Prior to testing I ran:
/usr/sbin/flipAlarmSync clear clear clear
rm -rf ~/.flip*

Then once running flipclock, flip down to alarm setting screen, flipdown again to flipclock settings screen. Change alarm type to daily. Flip up to get back to alarm settings screen..segfault

I've set the alarm tone as a mp3 file and have changed and checked other files but flipclock seems to close the second my alarm is suppose to go off. Is this a known problem or is it just for me?

Everything else works except the insomniac problem, which I think everyone's aware of.

Thanks for the details on how to reproduce that, it really is a very difficult/tricky thing to come up with as it only happens if the preferences file doesn't exist when you first launch flip. i.e. after it crashes, if you go back into flip it won't crash there again... it's only if that prefs file didn't exist when you first launched. I'll look into it later on today and try to get it ironed now that I know how to reproduce it.

I believe Spenc3 got the audio stuff for the N900 figured out on the weekend, so if he's got that taken care of and I can spend a bit of time working on things this evening then I'll try to get a new package out fairly shortly...

Hey ciroip been a while hope all is well with you buddy! Thanks for checkin in!
