Re: FlipClock Beta

After updating from 0.9.6 to 0.9.7-4, when the alarm fires, it plays for a few seconds (about 3 seconds) and then suddenly stops. When the alarm sound stopped playing (I designated a specific song for the alarm), the screen still correctly shows the two buttons (Alarm off and snooze) and responds as expected.

To reproduce, if I set the alarm 1 minute later from the current time, it plays well though. Can someone help me solve the problem? It's not easy to reproduce, but the problem happens on every morning ...

Changes are being made to the version you have installed. From what I read on this thread, we can expect an update soon which could very well solve your problem.

Sounds like the same problem I had. There are probably old alarm schedules left over from the update. This is what fixed mine:
(run these in a console)
/usr/sbin/flipAlarmSync clear clear clear clear
rm -rf ~/.flip*

Perhaps before running the rm command, run ls -a ~/.flip* to see what files show up and make sure that only flipclock files will get deleted.

Re: FlipClock Beta

Installed flipclock on my n900 last night - been looking forward to it for ages. Few questions:

- is there a Bugzilla/JIRA for FlipClock? Wading through this thread trying to find issues (so I don't duplicate bug reports) is a nightmare!

- Insomniac mode seems to work (the screen stays lit even though Display settings are to dim at 10 seconds), but the brightness control doesn't - I adjust the slider but it doesn't change the screen brightness. Even set on '3', the lowest setting, the screen is on the "1/5" brightness level from Simple Brightness app, which is too bright, the whole phone looks like a glowing rectangle.

- The second time I change the theme colour in the same session, the whole screen goes that colour, and I have to hit the main Power button and force-quit the app and restart it

- the 'snooze' button in Night Mode is placed over the 'Exit' button on the day theme, so pressing it causes the application to quit

Is that the deb from this thread or from devel-extra? The devel-extra seems to be outdated.

There is one in the garage page but it's TOTALLY outdated. I think we should start tracking there... here's the link:

This is not related to the theme colour change, this is related to the night theme doesn't have the settings screen. This is a known issue. JoLouis may be able to fill this in (*NUDGE NUDGE*):)

can you try start flipclock in XTerm and see what's being displayed for this error?

Although I have an N800, the "insomniac mode" works the same. The intent is that with the "insomniac backlight" slider set to a low value such as of 3, throughout the night the display will stay at a very low brightness so that you can sleep. When your alarm goes off, the brightness goes higher. However, in my case I have my display set to switch off after five minutes so that when I change to "night mode" the display takes five minutes to drop to the lower slider setting of 3. During the night, a single tap of the screen will return the brightness to a higher level, and then after the five minutes it returns to the very low level. The maemo 4 version is almost perfect, however, the maemo 5 version still has several problems. The display will not dim if you are in a "day mode".

You don't say what NIT (Nokia Internet Table) you installed it on.
