ok somebody better damn put up a pictorial on the working mod, a detailed howto and all pertinent links on where to buy the materials needed or just leave this damn thread from 2009 in the past.

I actually don't mind to brick one of my N900's for trying this out, (although it is impossible to) but if it was true, it can be a rebirth...
p.s. If I really ended up in loosing one, then I still have two, plus, a retailer just next to my street has a stock of N900s.

RESPECT, you checked what? 960 pins, of TWO chips, incl their particular electrical and timing specs and semantics, in less than 30 minutes. Damn you HAVE TO BE the smartest greatest EE I ever heard of.

Are you an engineer? if so then please go look at both data sheets for these 2 devices as it does not take a genius to work it out.

Am still looking at this possibility as it has been asked in a serious way and i suggest untill you know what your talking about instead of making wild guesses please at least try for the guys interested ok.

Yes as twindell says it is not something you would risk an N900 for and i have to agree with him there BUT unless you have the knowledge on how to swap these devices then i strongly suggest you dont attempt it.

You will need a hot air tool and a very close eye to align the replacement, although no soldering is required it would be very easy indeed to get this wrong as the pins on these devices are very very close together.

If you're willing to brick your device, why don't you just send it to me for free. At least I can do something worthwhile with it ...
