Re: [Maemo 5] Instant Messaging (IM) Client? AIM, GTalk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN, Yahoo, etc.
... does anybody know if pidgin or haze allow you to talk to (and preferably add) more than one person to a conversation? ... I've tried aMSN and that works well with multiple contacts in a single conversation ... but it's not easy to use on a touchscreen ... and I don't really need full MSN on a phone ... but it would be very nice to talk to more than one person in a conversation!

now somebody has said that a new version is in extras devel which is working properly (can anyone confirm this?) but my app-manager and apt-get update don't show anything to update even though the repos are online again?! o.O |
Re: [Maemo 5] Instant Messaging (IM) Client? AIM, GTalk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN, Yahoo, etc.
As far as I can see the version of these two is still 2.6.4, the one wich broke it (not talking about 'fault', though). The rest also has not changed / being upgraded, so I rate it unlikely.
Can you maybe specify the source? Thanks, Corwin |

just thought i would reply to your concern. I haven't used icq but msn offline messaging on Pidgin works. Conversation IM only works when contact is online. |

holy crap this is seriously low battery life for you. I wonder what it could be. I have no problems like that, you might wanna check processes running at startup and how much memory they are consuming. My home wifi is constantly connected and also nokia messaging ~ Btw, with a heavy cell phone usage and i am talking about music on while browsing and chat for say 2-3 hours and normal phone use for me would be say 30-40 mins. Battery life gives me a little over 8 hours depending upon a full charge or not to begin with. Most of the times i don't fully charge it so it just gives me 7 hours or so, that still is on the lower end and needs to be improved. But in your case, you must check your settings or where exactly the memory leakage is. Or maybe some internet connection that keeps draining the battery, maybe you entered some internet connection that it keeps trying to connect to |

Re: [Maemo 5] Instant Messaging (IM) Client? AIM, GTalk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN, Yahoo, etc.
Tried skim reading through this thread to see if it answered my questions but don't think it did, so here goes...
I'm after an IM app for the N900 which has some/all of the following: 1. have concurrent logins to yahoo & msn 2. have concurrent multiple yahoo & msn account logins 3. allows you to sign in as offline/hidden status I installed Pidgin, which seems pretty good, but I don't think it can do any of the above (unless I'm being an idiot and haven't seen the option). I was used to using Ebuddy on my previous (basic) phone and that was simple, but good. It handled all of the above. Is there anything like that for the N900? |
