Perhaps a better/more reliable approach might be to use gtalk as the main jabber service and then add contacts XXX@gateway.com etc using specific transport servers?

Not quite up to speed with XMPP yet.

Hi, anyone cannot login to ICQ since yesterday, too? I always get "network error". I have "extra protocol plugins for conversations and contacts" version 0.8 installed.

Hey guys i cannot connect to aim at all since .8 as well, it wasnt broke ... i shoudnt have updated is there a way to revert to an older build? or do you all know how i can help you in order to get the information you need to see what the problem is. this is pretty huge right now cuz these texts are costing me vs just the instant message ...

best combination for me:
ubuntu 9.10 with pidgin + n900 with pidgin.
just made a log-folder "pidgin_logs" in MyDocs and symlinked it to ~/.purple/logs
so i can easily synchronize my n900 and ubuntu logs in mass storage mode :D
so: UBUNTU + N900 + PIDGIN = EPIC WIN! ^^

can anyone let me know how to disable client login or ssl for the aim plugin. i downloaded the pidgin application and it wasnt logging on either so i thought it myt be my 900 but i looked into it and found that i needed to disable ssl for it to connect i changed both settings and was abled to connect. but when i goto advanced options for my aim acct in voip instant settings and theres no fields to change the settings to let me login. i like this plugin cuz its integrated but cmon now what happened??? anyway heres hopin thw update fixes it.

i think the integrated contacts is better than seperate apps (my own opinion), i like the integrated option and hope all the big chat players come on board..

Skype....

i solved this icq protocoll problem like this...

go to your icq account. navigate to adv. options and look if there's a port entry.. if not.. insert your port (standart is 5190) else rewrite. and here you go. worked for me after i reflashed it.

btw... did you guys try to reinstall the extras-protocolls?
