Just received this email after chasing DDP for a reply:

As stated DDP has;

"The devices that are sold through the Discounted Device Program (DDP) do not have Nokia's standard Product warranty. If the device that you receive is defect, you can return it within one (1) week from the purchase with a written note explaining what the defect is. For the return details, please email DDP.program@nokia.com."

I hope this answer your question.

Thanks
I'm on the verge of cancelling as I really don't want to play Russian Roulette all for the benefit of Nokia.

This was a nice offer but basically offering no warranty on a €250 device is not reasonable - offering these devices through the normal Nokia store as per previous devices was so much better for the end user, even if it was a little more problematic for Nokia.

It seems to make life easier for Nokia they are basically screwing over the active community/developer - not a very smart move.

Or maybe you just write directly to the DDP guys?

Is the reason why I'm waiting to order it: I'm in Spain now and I'd like the device to be shipped to my italian home. I'll come back for christmass holidays, so I'll order it the week before coming back home. Or should I order it now? Uff... all of this is a bit frustrating :(

You're a braver man than I.

I've just emailed asking for clarification on what we are supposed to do with those devices that develop a fault after the first week - from the sounds of it, throw it in the bin but hopefully there will be some way to get faulty devices repaired through DDP although I'm guessing not based on what has been stated so far.

If you're happy to take this kind of chance, go for it. :)

I won't buy a device for 250€ with no warranty,
I am lucky that I've got a device loaned for a year and I think I'll pass the offer to a friend of mine willing to take the risk.

It's a real shame though.
