Yes, it was shipped and order page lists it as shipped with DHL and tracking number is provided. Same informations were also sent to me by mails - one from Nokia Forum stating that device was shipped and second from DDP with information about DHL package and link to tracking.

I'ts good to hear that they're shipping, and I'm excited for all of you. You probably deserve it and I hope it serves its purpose well. But I'm still on the fence because of the warranty issue. And only that issue.

I agree with geneven. We're talking about 200 devices at the most; possibly more like 50. It would cost Nokia close to nothing to give the DDP a proper warranty.

I too think qgil is a stand-up guy, but "take it or live it" or informal promises should only apply to auction sites and/or 3rd-party free software, not new hardware purchases, regardless of the program. Or maybe unconsciously the Nokia higher-ups just want to see which of us are real fan boys and girls, but I thought we already demonstrated that? Well, I'm not sure if I am or not. I thought I was, but thankfully I won't have to wait much longer to find out!

I can understand being wary of the warranty situation. I fully believe in Quim, and that he'll do his best to make it right. But it may be out of his control, depending on the exact circumstances.

What I really wish is that T-Mobile USA was going to carry it. I'd put it on the 20 month installment program in a heart beat.

Just got device from DHL courier. What is inside:

- N900
- battery
- nokia charger (thick or thin) -> microusb adapter (CA-146C)
- nokia charger with microusb connector (AC-10E) 1200mA
- usb->microusb cable (CA-101)
- audio/video out cable (CA-75U)
- wired headset (WH-205)

What surprised me was lack of printed user guide but I think that this is due to 'we recycle' slogan on a box so will dig for PDF on device.

And box does not have any 'not for resale' texts which Quim told that will be.

The printed guide is in there - it's black and lying at the bottom of the black box so you might not see it first time! :)

Bit of a shame the USB charger is a US 2-pin affair - will have to buy myself a UK replacement (not complaining really) or maybe a shaving adapter. Then again I've got a few spare Nokia 2mm chargers so could use one of those and the handy adapter.

Hopefully these DDP devices don't suffer from the reboot problem (assuming it's a hardware related issue) - I'm not putting any new software on the device for the first few days until I've confirmed it's a keeper and everything is in working order!

I must have ordered a few hours later than debernardis on 11/9 : my confirmation email and tracking # arrived just before noon today.

Next challenge, DHL -- fond memories from N810 days :-)

Because of the limited number of available applications, the N900 isn’t recommended for an average consumer. The device is elegantly designed, but it doesn’t have that Apple finesse, or Android’s connectivity. What it does have is potential, which is largely untapped because the phone and OS are both so new. It needs a team of power users to make that potential turn into a go-to platform.
That^ from a recent review...

Maybe we're ready now.
I'm looking forward to the contributions that I'm sure will come. http://smileys.on-my-web.com/reposit...rinking-43.gif
