Bah, missed the DHL guy by all of 5 seconds. Those guys really don't wait around.

Our FedEx driver is of the second type. We've no windows on the driveway side of our house so we're not certain, but we strongly suspect he or she is a former newspaper delivery person. It doesn't sound as though the truck ever comes to a full stop, and we find our packages randomly placed (and scuffed a bit) in the driveway as if they were simply thrown. Our UPS guy, in contrast, went so far as to simply walk in our front door to carefully place packages on our coffee table until my wife asked him to stop. It was kind of him, but it worried her to hear an unknown someone walking around downstairs. |

Re: N900 device program for maemo.org developers and contributors
Nice, after 12 years BA employee (cabin crew) decided it's time for a new strike.. so now, in honour of those 12 years, they have announced a 12 days long strike from the 22nd of Dec to the 2nd of Jan.
This means that I might have to find another company to fly back Italy and this means good bye discounted N900... Unless they cancel the strike...:( |
Re: N900 device program for maemo.org developers and contributors
I got DHL to deliver to the office. They won't try to deliver outside office hours, and there's always someone there to sign it and I get a call when it arrives. Got it within an hour after touchdown.

More on topic, the DHL driver who delivered my N900 apparently saw me pull out of my driveway after lunch. He chased after me in his van, honking the horn, so he could make the delivery. I suspect it had more to do with not wanting to drive out from Harrisburg again than with dedication to customer service, but either way, it served me well. |
