Haptic feedback woke up!
I couldn't find a way to easily fire up the vibrator from within so I rebooted 2 or 3 times and each time the vibrator motor seemed more vigorous. Now the touch screen vibe works. I guess the motor needed to run in a bit. :)

On another note: I see all these threads with various hardware and software issues. I think there must be something wrong with mine... it has no issues what so ever. :p

Oh and SJG, This morning I got a T-Mobile, 3G data only plan for only $29.00 per month... no contract!
I'll post the particulars shortly in the other thread. :)

3G at a buck a day ain't all that bad. Now I need to find out how I can tap into the N900's connection via BT from my N810 so I can keep that in the car, semi-permanent like.

Well, you beated me, I missed them by 5 min. I ran up the live chat, "Where are you located and where can I pick it up?"
"We are located in Arizona and you can pick it up from our service station. Just give me your phone number, ...." Dumb like a rock!

Hey, more info please. I dont have a phone and I dont tie to any plan yet. I have been shopping for awhile. Can I just buy the 3G data only, or do I have to have a phone plan and add data to it? This is what I found,

That is the whole plan. It includes no minutes and no text messages ($.20/min for calls, not sure about the per message cost for SMS/MMS). If you put it in a data device (card, dongle, internal card, etc.), then you probably wont use those anyway. But if you put it in a phone that you plan to use as a connected-PDA, then you could, in theory, still use it as a phone/messenger. I don't know if there's a way to turn that "feature" off, or not.

But, yeah, you can take any "smartphone", and put it on one of those 3 plans, and just use it for data. Though, for $59.99, you get the 5GB data plan, unlimited messaging, unlimited night and weekend calls, unlimited t-mobile to t-mobile calls, and 500 minutes for other calls, no contract, no phone subsidy.

But, if all you're going to use is 200MB/month of data, and nothing else, $29.99 is hard to beat. $1/day.

At least you can pick up!

UPS was delivering a motherboard for me once, and I saw it arrive at a main hub near Dallas, then come to a distribution center very near me, then-- back to the Dallas hub again.

Arg!

They told me there was a delivery error and it would take another day or two to get to me. I asked if I could pick it up from the hub, and they said that wasn't allowed. When I asked why not, they said because they would not be able to locate it at the hub.

1) I am interested in the $39.99 a month, I believe no contract, will this plan allow me to connect in place there is no wifi? If it allows me to connect in place of no wifi, once online, can i use internet phone to make calls?

2) 200 MB/month is a joke, is it? Say to load a simple web page is about 5 mb, I guess, an ESPN would probably burn out the whole 200 MB on only one visit! I was with att 20 MB per month gophone, I went to 4 web sites, just surfing, it already bounced off limit and ask for more money!

3) has anybody use the $39.99 plan? I may just go with that if it is no contract. Or I will take the $59.99, but this one has 2 yr contract, I assume....

Yeh, right! I am in NC and the AH sitting in Arizona were saying you can come and pick it up! Arizona and NC is 3 hr time zone difference, driving would be 30+hr one way, keep asking me to confirm pick up with my phone number.... if he/she has a brain, he/she certainly forgets to bring it to work.

Anyhow, with a lot of patience, and "prompting", he/she then able to locate a city within 1 hr drive.

Sorry, I did not make it clear on previous post....

Sounds like a lack of commitment to Maemo, to me ;-)
