Anyone located in US received your device yet? I'm curious how the US customs works in this case, and if there is any duty to be paid...

Anyone located outside EU countries, did you have problems with customs? Was there any invoice attached with the package showing the "value for customs only"? How much was it?

My order has not yet shipped. If I hear any horror stories... maybe I still have time to cancel my order... ;)

Did any of you who already got the device from eStore suffer any reboots yet?

The good thing is that they use "DHL Midday express delivery before 12:00" for sending so it is really next day.

I'm thinkin' a lot of the reported reboots may be phone related. There could be two lifeguard systems involved with the N900. The one we are all familiar with from the previous tablets and one involving the phone radios.
Bad info to and from the connecting tower has caused frequent, multible boots in other new to the network phones I have tested.

OT, but on my mind non the less... The first thing I would do if I experience this is to pull the SIM and disable all network connections to see if it happens then.

sachin, please read the post you were quoting, it was written in there :-)

I ordered on Nov. 9th, same day as debernardis, probably a few hours later. He got his mail yesterday, I got mine today, exactly a month later.

If DDP is going through the list in FIFO mode, your turn should come soon...

edit: tracking says it left Helsinki at 9:30pm tonight, so it's on its way West, hopefully...

I would like to know from any North Americans (especially Canadians) what the price for customs is stated as on the box.

It's here... delivered 9am... I just *knew* I was going to be late to work today !

Luckily there's a partial strike on in Paris public tranport so nobody will notice :-)

Sent yesterday. It went to Germany, Belgium, Netherlands in a night and delivered this morning. Ofcourse, I have a lot positive to say too, but... I have a dead pixel... so I rather not use the device now because it pisses me off, and I will be without phone... because I must return my Nokia E71 before 13 december 2009 (RMA, keyboard malfunction)... :(

I have tracked the package on the DHL page this morning. Now it says delivered. :)
Wow, this was quick from Helsinki to Bavaria. Can't wait to get home.

Mine has entered N/America this morning...

December 10, 2009 06:39
New York City-Gateway, NY - USA

It's going to be tired when it gets here. It had a long night...

Helsinki - Finland > Leipzig - Germany > East Midlands - UK and now NYC...

I hope it took pictures of its travels to share :D

Mine was shipped today. :) I believe I'm one of the last ones to place order (11/27), so everyone who did order this should have received your shipment notice,

YoDude: I wish you luck the package doesn't get stuck in NYC customs.

Thanks, DDP!

And told her that you're using the device to develop an application that has some critical functionality at exactly that position on the screen.

Is it possible for me to get a developer device? I don't have much comments/karma here but the posts I have made have been quite techincal and I'm also a VIP member on the Nokia discussions website.

Also I do have programming experience and a masters in Computer Science.

Have you developed or are you maintaining any applications for Maemo?

Re: N900 device program for maemo.org developers and contributors

Got mine. Well, a couple of hours ago. I haven't opened the DHL parcel yet, got other things to do first.

The DHL tracking was weird, according to the tracker it was shipped to an entirely different city, 1000 km away. There's a perfectly good DHL office here, so that looked strange. I got quite worried when I saw that it had been signed off as received, and was about to find some way to contact DHL when it suddenly showed up here. Oh well, it's here. At some point I will unpack it, charge it, and start to check it over for any problems.

For the sake of Quim's blood pressure, please make that "some point" well within a week.

Re: N900 device program for maemo.org developers and contributors

Oh, I don't want to impede on anyone's health, so I'm charging it right now. Have been looking for a case to use, because it feels about as slick as my office phone, which keeps slipping out of my hand and pockets all the time (unlike my older phone with a rubber-like exterior). Was looking at this one: http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page....00&skuno=85902 (someone posted a link earlier), unfortunately shipping will be more than twice the value of the case and thus suddenly expensive and way above the price point where taxes and VAT hits.

I suspect we'll all be discovering the answers to those questions at about the same time.

Got my N900 today. Unfortunatly it has an area of pixels which are permanently on. I already emailed to DDP. Hope there is a good way to exchange the device. But beside this the N900 ist really fun!
I hope we don't have to accept dead or permanently on pixels because it's a developers device. The pixels are well viewable and it's really annoying on dark backgrounds.

Its been in the New York City-Gateway for almost 12 hours. :(

I hope it's not just sitting on a bench in the Port Authority or something. I mean we've all heard the horror stories:

Young and attractive phone from a small town like Keilaniemi hits the bright lights of NYC and is confused and feels alone. A stranger picks it up, buys it a sexy screen protector and the next thing you know he turns out the phone and it's on the streets doing connection "tricks" for a dollar a KB...
