Different versions of the N900?
I'm a little unsure as to what version of the N900 I need. On Amazon I see it's the US version, but what other versions are there?
I live in Israel, so I'm kinda worried I'll order the wrong version than what I need. So my question is, what are the other versions and what are the differences between them? I know my current N96 uses both GSM and 3G (UMTS) to connect to my provider. I'm almost certain there won't be any problems with US version phones here but I just wanna make sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |
Re: Different versions of the N900?
there are no different versions, only localized versions with different keyboard layouts. that's it.
connectivity options are the same in every device. if you want to make sure it works, check the official specs and compare it to the frequencies your carrier uses. |

There aren't any differences between localizations other than keyboard layout, language, and possibly legal restrictions (for example, you can't use a personal FM transmitter in some countries, so it is disabled.) and/or carrier restrictions (vodaphone uk uses it's own branded version of Maemo 5) Hope this helps. |

Both came unbranded and, believe it or not, unlocked. Seems very strange and a silly mistake by Voda but hey, im not complaining! :D |
