Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

Hello,

I have been following this thread ever since the first one started, never joined though because I thought phone would be out, but this helps with the wait I guess.

Anyway, I called BLT just now about the stock of the N900;

http://www.shopblt.com/cgi-bin/shop/...er_id=!ORDERID

He was very nice. I asked him about the Pre-Orders, and he explained EVERYTHING without another question being asked, so pretty smooth phone call I might say.
Anyway, I live in PA, so I ordered from here considering it should be arriving to the warehouses soon.
But after the call he specifically said that NOKIA has been very bad with their ETA dates, even with the N97 and other previous models, so the ETA dates stated are not GUARENTEED arrival until they get and e-mail saying it was shipped, he didn't recieve an e-mail yet, but he said it looks bleak for it to arrive tomorrow without a confirmation e-mail, so most likely, dates will be pushed back. He stated that it doesn't matter where you order from, they will most likely ship from the closest warehouse to you, that has them in-stock. (In my case; Pennsylvania.)

I ordered from them because they are the only company that has really been reliable with the ETA's. They haven't lied about anything really, but it's Nokia that changes the shipping dates so they have to update them from time to time. He gave no word on the release date, he said if not this week, they push to next week, if not next week, they push... and on and on.

Anyway, I hope this cleared somethings up. The warehouses aren't 100% Amazon, and looking through their vendors, Amazon isn't one of them, so hope for that are pretty much destroyed.
Before the ETA's were earlier, but they never recieved any IN-STOCK, the keep pushing back date (Nokia.)

Hope this cleared some things up for people.

Yes i feel really pwnd and made the following decision. i wont watch any youtube video about the n900 anymore, i will unsubscribe this thread, i will not visit this forum anymore. the only thing what i will do is to check the order status on the official nokia.de site, and nothing else... no twittering about any meetup or maemo development or anything.

i dont want to see any more person who is using and showing the n900. im really depressed about this and wont be happy until i finally get my long awaited mobile internet computer with phone capabilities...

Hey Rotkäppchen... Jetzt spiel mal nicht den bösen Wolf ;-)
Warte einfach mal bis Freitag, ok?

Sorry, can't translate this. Nothing important.

Had patience... But if the date really has been pushed again, I'm going to be disappointed.

Not saying I will cancel my order or anything cos the truth is that I still want it, but it's just sad that they can't stick to the dates. Makes you wonder what's going on.

Good luck to all. I'm out of this forum till it ships.

edit: oh yeah, I was at the nokia n900 meetup today, didn't ask about shipping, just mostly about the phone itself and how was the development approached. Also, they had a prize draw for everyone that attended and there's was a n900 for the draw. I think someones name was drawn first but he/she was not there so the phone(when it is released) went to the next person.

Which means you'll get a tracking # from DHL when DHL is handling the package, but when they hand it over to the post office (if you are not near a DHL area) you have no tracking info for the post office!

Amazon's free shipping I think is UPS (tracking # included)

I think Newegg is starting to use UPS now. Just ordered two things from them on Monday and instead of DHL they're using UPS as standard shipping.

I'm disappointed. But just have to suck it up and wait. They're not doing this to be mean. There also is no other alternative for me at any price. If there was another truly open Linux phone out there with good hardware, i'd be gone. But since there's not, Ohhh welll. Here I be till the knock on the door.

Yep - just got off the phone with Nokia. Definitely pushed back to Mid November. This **** does not fill me with confidence when yesterday everything was on track and today all of a sudden its not.

Canceled my n900 order with Nokia.

Will reorder MAYBE from Newegg.
