nope, birthdays arent syncing with my matched contacts. i tried both refresh and retrieve.

and no, it hasnt worked in any previous versions, either.

can't access the linkedin account.....in hermes ..nothing happens which i click authorize.... whereas when i click on twitter option a seperate web page opens up to validate an account. Also it would be great help if someone could tell me the way to remove hermes application completely through x-terminal ..guess that could solve the problem

how come when i click on the hermes app recently, nothing happens? It seems to load for awhile but then it just closes and never loads anymore...

Have you tried starting it from the command line to see what error messages it might generate?

Since birthday syncing is working for me, and for sjgadsby, something "different" is happening.

yup, i still cant make hermes sync facebook contacts, no birthdays no nothing, except for the photo

The debug version is not supposed to make it work any better, it's to gather information on what things Facebook is sending to you.

If you suffer from the "birthdays not coming from Facebook" issue, only install it if you are:
  1. Comfortable installing raw deb files
  2. Able to produce a log as per the instructions in the issue, and elsewhere in this thread
  3. Happy to send information on your Facebook friends (contained in the log) via email to me.

I've now received some information. I think what is happening is Facebook bug #12166.

You can check this by asking your friends who aren't getting their birthdays received to go to:
  • Open Facebook >
  • Account: Privacy Settings >
  • Applications and websites: Edit your settings >
  • Info accessible through your friends: Edit your settings

I suspect that a given circle of friends is likely to have the same setting; explaining why some people see it and others don't. Confirmation would be appreciated though.
