Re: Dell has the N900 for as low as $442
I placed another order with Dell and am in a chat with sales right now trying to get information out of them. As usual they are dumb as bricks. My order was showing shipment by the 15th too...very strange indeed.

michael_j_everett@dell.com
That's the e-mail of the manager of the rep I was talking to on-line. The rep (Wesley_Egli) told me that there are none in stock and that they weren't expecting any until next month. |

As far as I understand
Dell does not keep any stock, they are just passing the order to nokia (brightpoint more specifically). The problem is Nokia is shipping the orders in random order. |

Someone (dell or nokia or brightpoint) is messing with the order of orders. But from my perspective dell is my point of contact and dell is the one who lose reputation. |
Re: Dell has the N900 for as low as $442
Well, mine says it's out for delivery so hopefully I'll have it in a couple hours. But I seriously sympathize with you guys that have had your 11/5 orders delayed into january. It really is mind blowing and I will probably never do business with Dell again.
And my phone is here. Good luck to everyone, I hope they all arrive soon. |
Re: Dell has the N900 for as low as $442
Dear Fellow Disappointees (No, not a real word),
So this is the latest info. Nokia seems to be the ones shipping each individual order. It is possible that means directly to customers or to Dell. Either way it definitely means that Nokia is handling each individual order. Nokia is at fault for holding the discounted orders. The best thing to do is to contact Dell and ask to speak to a Customer Care Specialist. After that, ask them to have your order expedited ( as others have, I'm not really sure what that means in Dell terms) or in my case they told me they could send a request form to Nokia and ask them where my order is. Maybe these two avenues are actually the same thing? Also, tell them that a friend in the same situation has experienced the same problems and they offered them a delay discount for their inconvenience. They will put in a request to the financial department for this. As a final measure, I ordered another N900 today, as "expected" it will be here on the 17th of this month, haha, gotta love it. Wellllll before the 20th of January as my 11/5 order's page says. With the 50 dollar Nokia discount it will actually by the same price as my 11/5 order upfront, but then again with the 50 dollar discount my 11/5 order will be 50 dollars cheaper than that. I'll take the 50 dollar hit at this point as long as I get my damn phone in a reasonably amount of time. -----Kham |
Re: Dell has the N900 for as low as $442
my 11/5 order just got delivered to my house. Thankfully, I already had N900 from NokiaUSA since last few days so the wait wasn't too bad :). Now I'm debating whether to keep the NokiaUSA one or send it back. After all Dell.com one was a lot cheaper than the one I got from Nokia but unlike many complains that I've read on the forum, mine works perfectly....so I'm worried about taking a chance.

I just ordered from PCMall. It will come to a little under 6 after the rebate. I just want to get the h*ll away from Dell. I called them and they said they were in stock, should ship today. Here's hoping I can put an end to checking this thread (no offense) and start actually using this thing!
