I still don't see any reason (but probably I will NEVER see a reason) as to why someone as to be called "dumb" or "idiot".

The Chinese market is a very interesting one, with a lot of things going on behind the scenes. For instance, I think many of you saw the news that wifi is disabled in the iPhones sold in China. You can only imagine the interesting conversations that must have occurred with this change. :)

It must have been interesting because E71 and apparently E72 are also sold with wifi disabled in China :)

Yeah, I have no idea how easy it would be to fully and properly disable wifi functions from the N900. iPhone at least without jailbreak is pretty solid if somebody disables a function.

Then again, chinese market != chinese users abroad = supporting chinese in the UI. Anyway, just came to my mind.

Chinese is spoken by more people than any other language to the best of my knowledge so if you are talking about a common language I think you might loose that one on a numbers basis.

Just to make a distinction... No one actually speaks Chinese, they speak either Mandarin or Cantonese or the other however many recognized languages in China. Saying someone speaks Chinese is like saying someone speaks European.

The OP is right. AFAIK Nokia doesn't call the N900 an "Internet Tablet"...

So without further discussing any of the points mentioned here: no, it's not an internet tablet. Doesn't change a thing about the device itself, does it? ;)

On my N810, there is a button right at the onscreen keyboard that allows me to switch between the two languages I have installed. Right over the shift key, I press once and I go from an English keyboard to a localized one, or back.

The hardware keyboard on the other hand, is localized.

I have no problems using it for local or global forums.

Exactly. I don't care if they call it a 'dumbphone' instead of 'internet tablet' or 'smartphone'. I'm still gonna get one. And until I do, i'm still going to salivate over them... :D
