She said several times that they would have a tracking number before it shipped. She asked me to call back Wednesday because she hoped they would have a tracking number by then.

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

Whatever you do, don't try to switch from 2-Day shipping to 1-Day shipping with Amazon USA right now!!!

Since I am leaving the country for a couple of weeks next monday, and I would like to have my N900 before then, I thought I would see what the incremental cost would be to have it shipped 1-Day. But without asking for confirmation, or showing me the added cost, it changed my order and added $275 for one day shipping. I freaked out and tried to change it back to 2-Day shipping, and when it did it showed $148 for the two day!

I just spent a half hour on the phone with the worst customer service rep trying to get it changed back to the $9.99 2-Day shipping I had before. Finally they did it, but it required some serious grief! So whatever you do, don't innocently try to change your shipping without calling and asking first!

Hope this saves someone the pain I just went through.;)

it happened before
this shipping price is a mistake you can do the 1 day shipping and asked them to fix the price

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

I just spent another 45 minutes on the phone with Nokia USA Customer care who are located in the Philippines. They were not able to provide the Nokia Care Protect as I originally ordered, the over night shipping I originally ordered or a date when my September 23rd preorder would ship. The agent did say that his current understanding was that the N900 was released but not shipping and that they were trying to ship out all the preorders before the release date. This confirms the order status supervisors statement that the N900 is not shipping.

I called around 6:00pm to get some kinda status and all they keep saying is that it has been released to shipping and that I should have it by this week. So I keep questioning where my tracking numbers are and they quickly dismiss that with the previous statement. I then ask why have I been charged for the phone if you haven't shipped it yet and they come up with another excuse. This is getting downright ugly now. I also keep mentioning about the tracking page being broken but they don't seem to care.

I could hear him checking the status with his computer. So it sounded like what he was telling me was legit. Sounded like the N900's had just arrived at Amazon, but were not officially "in stock" yet, because the orders hadn't been readied.

Tanisha [Williamson] I don't think is in the cell dept. When I got in touch with her, I used the general Amazon number. She's a Sr.Manager with Amazon if that helps you out next time you call.

You think this is one more farce in the miscommunication release saga of the N900 in the US?

1. "Itīs shipping" - November 11th. Well not quite true, just the first
units being cleared for shipping. Total silence for 7 days.
2. "Itīs available" - November 18th. Well another lie. No shop in the
world has the phone available until November 20th.
3. NokiaUSA store claims to be shipping items from the 20th. As of the
evening of November 23rd. Neither a tracking number nor a
phone has appeared from NokiaUSA.

buy.com supervisor just said they have not received any shipments, and they are waiting for word from their vendor who will supply them with the phones, and they have not given a date for "release" of the shipments to buy.com. sounds like they'll take awhile...

Once we receive the units tomorrow they will be shipped on Wednesday which you should receive the following week Monday or Tuesday.

Have as great day

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

I have no idea when I'll receive mine either. OPK said they set sail on the 10th, but I've only seen mention of less than 5 people that paid and got one. I wonder if they were lying, and the ones claiming to have gotten it were plants to make the noise die down? Because I know no one personally that has received theres, yet many that preordered from all corners of the globe.

After e-mailing for an update on the price, I got this in response:

Hello from Amazon.com.

Nokia N900 is not covered by our Pre-Order Price Guarantee because only books, music, videos, DVDs, software, and video games are currently eligible for this program.

I'm sorry for any disappointment this may cause. I've included some additional information about our pricing policies below.

Thanks for shopping at Amazon.com.

Our Pre-Order Price Guarantee applies only to not-yet-released books, CDs, videos, DVDs, software, and video games sold by Amazon.com. It does not apply to other product lines, to items that have already been released, or to items offered by other sellers on our site. Also, we don't price-match with other sellers who offer items either on our website or elsewhere.

My Dell order shipped sometime since last night, but no update status of what carrier. Shows as next-day business, but no details yet.

I do not know if arriving today or tomorrow. At least it should be by tomorrow.

Odd that says shipped on 11/23, but is being delivered 11/25 via "next day business".

Update:

Shipping Method: Next Business Day
Shipped Date: 11/23/2009
Estimated Delivery Date: 11/25/2009 (updated)
Carrier: Data Temporarily Unavailable
Tracking Number: Data Temporarily Unavailable

Shessh!
Nokia webshop is the worst system I've come across!
pre-order system that triggers fraud system on banks and no ability to re-auth an order!
(Which means pre-ordering was a complete waste of time and effort)
Add to that I can't re-order on my account now as it gives a 500 page, so have had to set up a new one.

Damn next time I'll go with MPD, might be slower but at least it can't be worse than this.

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere yet, but Nokia appears to have run out of stock in Finland, and won't be filling all pre-orders. Not sure if other countries are experiencing the same problem

Source: http://www.taloussanomat.fi/talous/2.../200924421/133

Translation: http://translate.google.com/translat...33&sl=fi&tl=en

edit: Just noticed someone mentioning no stock till Feb 10 in the USA. The linked article suggests only a week or so delay for unfilled pre orders in Finland, so might not be that bad

I just chatted online with a rep at the nokiausa.com store, and was told that the N900 was available for immediate delivery, and that if ordered right now, it would ship out within 24 hours. My question is this...if they are shipping "new" orders this fast at this point, does this mean that ALL of the the preorders have been filled?? From reading on this forum, it doesn't seem like any of them have been filled.
Also, I asked the question of price matching to other sites that are selling the n900. He said nokia.com doesn't pricematch, and that they (and their authorized retailers) were the only one's shipping the phone at this point. I asked "who are your authorized retailers in the US?", to which he replied "dell.com and buy.com". I said "so these retailers can ship now?", and he replied "yes". I asked "what about amazon.com?" and his reply was "they will not be allowed to ship unitl the end of the month. Only nokia.com and it's authorized retailers will be shipping this product now". This reps info seems to go along with what I've been reading is happening in the forums. I wish I had just copied and pasted the chat session into the forums here, but I've quoted it as stated. Thought this might be info you guys wanted to see.

Brightpoint has not shipped any preorders. They claim that the "released for shipment" orders are waiting for Fedex to pick them up although they made the same claim yesterday.

I called 1 866 59 NOKIA to ask when it would ship if I placed a new order today. They said it would be the first week of December. They also said that preorders were shipping.

I chatted with a nokiausa.com rep on September 23rd and he told me the N900 would ship before the end of the month so I placed a preorder. He was off by more than 2 months. I would not believe them now.

But if you look at the order page for the n900, it is not listed as a preorder any longer. It is listed as "in stock".

Not sure the order number reference will help, since they are also supposed to verify who you are too. Their reps may get in trouble if they said you can use another person's order number. The order number is an access point to an account. Dell's security team would use such violations to trim head count by the offenders ;)

I have never heard of buy.com being called an authorized retailer before.... although that would be great. If it were true, maybe they will ship my 10/19 buy.com order sometimes soon..... although I have lost all hope that I will EVER get this device now.
