I've talked to about 4 people today and got about 4 different answers. But I was also told I should cancel and re-order, but mu nutz just ain't that big! So congrats to the gutsy one's here!

sorry in my haste to play with my phone i did forget to mention that at 10:30 this morning Fedex delivered my n900 from NokiaUSA. I have spent about 2 hours so far setting everything up. So they are truly shipping them out. Finally after waiting since 9/13.

I feel like I have been groped violated over and over again. **** nokia, and damn them to hell. Look at what happened to Circuit City and Blockbuster you ****tards, What goes around comes around NOkia. If there was an alternate competitor who was offering a device very similar to the n900 nokia would not have done this. So it is obvious that nokia wants to make quick sales from their own retailers plus try to get all Amazon, Dell, NewEgg etc customers to buy directly from them. I urge everyone NOT to cancel your preorders/orders and move to NokiaUSA. And what would be really cool is if Amazon, Dell, etc took some action against Nokia, but i doubt that will happen.

I purchase so much stuff from online and i never came across ******** like my shipping address should be same as billing address... thats what explanation nokia customer support guy is giving me.. now they have banned my credit card...

I would never order from Nokia after hearing the credit card hassles you guys went through during this purchase and also the N97. They really need to fix that. I mean what sort of company allows that type of bad service to occur when clearly places like amazon don't mess your card all up with holds and make things complicated they charge when it is ready to get shipped.

I went with Amazon as the least of all evils but now to hear that Nokia told them to hold the orders until the 30th?
They cannot do that and maintain a good reputation. Am I wrong or right that Nokia is getting a reputation as bad retailer and device releaser?
I still show the 529 price on Amazon plus 11 something for overnight and I never saw any tax added but I have been hearing from some of you guys that Amazon will tax me and I am in California so am I going to get a surprise when they ship because I only have 580 on my card?

I pre-ordered from NewEgg on 10/21, my order is still "On Hold", got off the phone with a NewEgg CS, they indicated that another shipment of 400 units is due "either Friday or early next week". Here's hoping...

As much as I like NewEgg and Amazon. I think we need to put feedback on their feedback pages about some of this BS. I really don't see much reason to pre order in the future. I've never pre-ordered anything before, much less pre-ordered 2+ months before.

Waiting for the item for a month, and get treated like **** for 600$ I am willing to spend for this phone is priceless.
I still waiting for N900, but I'm getting kind of disappointed with the outcome, mainly because of the Nokia as a company itself. I

I have a feeling that Engadget or someone like them will publish a story "Nokia fails to deliver N900 to US customers" Which by now is quite true. I mean, they officially said it's selling in USA more than a week ago, and they even mentioned Amazon. They could easily wait for the last day of November to do it..

Oh wow, I somehow missed the fact that thx42's order was placed on 11/14, not 10/14; that certainly does annoy me. I guess I'll have to at least put in a good effort to get a free bump in shipping method or sort of recompense.

That being said, I sincerely hope they are shipping thx42's order. You lucky bastard ;)

Interesting play I must admit. When I talked to NewEgg, and it was backorder, they swore they had no stock. I guess if you're a CS dweeb that's all you know. Would be interesting to call them again and see if they have stock now.

Tha's one way to do a release but not jeopardize Nokia's black Friday deal.

Like I said, after pre-order deals are done retailers are going raise the price back to where it was suppose to be and start doing discounts and sales from that pricepoint.

It's a pre-order incentive tactic.

I ordered from Newegg this morning at 11:08am EST when it was listed as in stock. 10 minutes after I ordered it, the charge went through on my credit card, and my order status is listed as "shipped", but the tracking number isn't updated yet. I chose overnight shipping, same as the earlier guy showing the screen shot of his status. Mine is exactly like his. I'll keep you guys updated on Friday as to whether I receive the item then or not. If I knew how to do a screenshot in Windows, I'd post it up here (I'm used to Macs).
