Re: My nokia n900 first impressions

My only worry about it is the battery life. I currently have an iPhone 3gs and that can last me about a day and half with just texting and a tiny bit of web browsing, get a little bit carried away though and the battery barely lasts a day. I jailbroke it and just watched the battery drain in a couple of hours (without use as well).

I expect the N900 has a similar battery life too.

FM Transmitter - This is a well known issue, I think we can almost dismiss this feature altogether. I was really excited that I got it working like the UI developer demo on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n99S8iMYKRY) The catch here is that it only works the way the UI developer had shown, which is place on the speedometer, when car is idle. It doesn't even get the channel once I start my engine!

Just a tip, download the fm booster you find in devel, just a script that sets the FM Transmitter to max, due to laws around the world it's strength depends on where you live.

thanks for that never knew it existed only problem with this is you cant chat on this like you can on the iphone app, its good to comment on posts etc much faster than the full site on N900.

Re: Unfortunately the wait was not worth it in my view

Take your point however it is clear that the platform, or at least this firmware version was not stable. Perception is built on first impressions. Sad but true.
