Analog Clock Widget Development
5 Attachment(s)
Hi everybody,
I would like to ask the developers if they would create an analog clock widget for maemo 5, wouldnt that be great? I am used to have a clock on my HTC Hero as well as on my Windows 7 PC. Seconds should be displayed, too, for the "live" feeling. Will someone of the developers create such a wonderful widget? I have attached some samples I have found online: |
Re: Analog Clock Widget Development
Actually, I'm working on another project, but I think this is not so difficult to do (maybe using cairo).
If someone else write it, it's better, otherwise I will do it. |
Re: Analog Clock Widget Development
Wow that would be very very nice! As I'm not a programmer, but a designer, I could contribute the graphics?

Re: Analog Clock Widget Development
This one's really cool, its resizable. Sure, not on the N900, but the clock could provice several sizes...

Re: Analog Clock Widget Development
I think in terms of cpu and overall performance we need widgets that are really small but good looking?

Re: Analog Clock Widget Development
Can I request that we have sweeping seconds hand like automatic watch, rather than nasty tick tick of quartz please.
See example at one of my fav sites TZ-UK and the lovely Dreadnought watch. http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/index.php Mike C |
Re: Analog Clock Widget Development
Maybe two options, sweeping and ticking. :)

Re: Analog Clock Widget Development
I posted a msg on the Cairo clock by Macslow with different clock faces and themes yesterday under the "OS2008 / Maemo 4 / Chinook - Diablo "..
However I thought this may be relevant here too.. I tried installing the Macslow's cairo clock in my turbo easy debian env on my N810 and it seems to work, with about 10 ~ 12 different clock faces/themes available(pasted couple of screen shots below).. The issue is that, it has this black rectangular background which does not go away even after using the " -no-background" option as suggested in one of the forums. Though it is resize-able within the easy debian on the hildon desktop it gets displayed only fullscreen. Now if some one can hildonize it as an applet for the desktop ( similar to Khertan's Cairoclock for maemo), we can have variety of clock faces. Having said that not sure if all this has been discussed and given up based on certain technical difficulties.. Or better still, if we can find a way to get new themes with the CairoClock on maemo, as mentioned by Macslow that would be great for both the diablo and N900 users http://i45.tinypic.com/23s5ll.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/35i4q6s.png http://i46.tinypic.com/21oq1ia.jpg |
