Madhouse? It was empty when I went.

Also, wtf is Nokia thinking with the launch...it's a complete disaster. The woman at the store laughed when I asked here if there are enough units to go 'public'...she laughed and said...NOOOOO. It will be sold out. So how many units did they get...like 2-300?

I am guessing the 2nd list is more of the same preorder business. She said they had so many preorders they had to start a 2nd list. Even if the phone goes public they might still do preorders?

Yeah you'd think they would want to sell as many as possible, that store is always totally empty. Tourists don't even go in there to win on the exchange rate.

I just called the chicago store, they started getting theirs today and are calling people, not sure if anyone else mentioned this. The guy on the phone was sneaky too. I told him that I called back in oct and should be on the list (I made no such call). Instead of saying I was not on the list, he said my name was there by pretty far down. Well, if he calls me back tomorrow, I will go get one there, otherwise I guess I wait for my order on buy.com. Unless he wasnt being sneaky and there is someone else on the list with the same first and last name, in which case, I guess I wont get a call.

Sorry I went MIA for a while - hopped back on the subway... back home now. I put my order on the callback list yesterday afternoon

Anyway it's madhouse...they are scrambling, plus they are closing for an hour for some special event, and opening back up until their usual closing time.

To those on the list but who didn't get a callback yet, just say you missed their callback attempt and explain how when you called back, the person answering said that all callback reservations had to be picked up today.

I'll take some pretty pictures with my DSLR (if my battery isn't dead) and post them up for your drooling pleasures, as well as doing a little unboxing. It sucks though cause I have to leave at 5:30 for drinks and a movie with my girlfriend. seriously, bad timing...

It's definitely odd, when they asked for my info for the callback, they only asked for my first name (pretty common Christian name) and phone #. and when I got there, they took my ID which doesn't even have my ph# on it.

Definitely odd... anyway, time to unbox.

nyc tax is 8.875.

phone is $569 + 50.50 tax

Ok so I called, the guy was confused and giving me ******** about filling callbacks for the past months. When I explained you got it from a yesterday order some woman overheard the argument and said its fine for me to get it.

He said one guy was ahead of me on the list. Obviously they aren't being honest about their number of orders or their stock. Anyways, off to go pick up the phone!

Called the Chicago Flagship they have a phone waiting for me and he is willing to apply my 15% off! Cheaper than NewEgg's price, before tax I believe.

I was on the wait list since Nov 6th I believe.

Hahahah: I just got this email from NokiaUSA regarding a preorder that I placed online (but didn't cancel yet - was waiting until I had the phone in hand from flagship to cancel). The email came an hour ago. Guess I'll try calling them to cancel, otherwise I'll have to sell it off. Oops.

I just walked in and picked mine up. Put my name on the list yesterday, got a call today today to pick it up. I dont know what system they are following . Awesome phone. $569.

My sister just picked one up for me at the store. I was 246 on the call list from Monday, but it appears they could be selling to anyone now. 2 girls in front of my sister put their name on the list today and they were told to come back after 6pm to get their phones. Also, test your phone before you leave, one guy had a missing pixel on his phone, so they exchanged it.

Funny I got my call to pick up the phone, but i am in another state and my friend in Brooklyn can't go now... if you only new my name you could go get mine.... oh they close at 8pm and i was told starting tomorrow they go up for public sale then its a line wait!
